Not Again!

Listen Up by Lukas Kendall

We had one of those weird outtages where the ordering forms would not work over the weekend. We have since corrected the problem, which was caused by a difference in the new high-powered dedicated server we just moved to at our hosting company. Are you interested in the arcane technical reason why the error occurred? Here's what my webmaster tells me:

The problem arose from the fact that the new server, since it is so much faster than the old one, accesses the database much quicker. I had a situation where I needed to do something to the database twice in a row, back-to-back. The system was so fast that it was trying to do the second thing before the first had finished, thereby causing the database to be "locked." I corrected the problem by forcing the system to completely finish the first thing and terminate the database connection before moving on to the next.

Wow. Anyway, all clear. The order form works fine now.

HOWEVER, if you placed an order over the weekend you might have gotten a weird error message or some other odd behavior that made you feel bad. I know because people wrote me telling me this happened.

SO:

If you placed an order between last Thursday and yesterday,

AND

You did NOT get an order confirmation email -- repeat, did NOT get a confirmation (because if you DID that means your order is fine -- I promise! -- and you will drive me insane if you write now)

AND

You have NOT ALREADY written me -- in which case I am personally taking care of you --

THEN PLEASE EMAIL: Lukas@filmscoremonthly.com

Send me your name, address and what you ordered and I'll check the orders and I will personally correspond to take care of you.

Whew. Why this always seems to happen when we announce a new CD is beyond me, but I have a terrible feeling that people tried to order The Omega Man and had a hard time and it breaks my heart.

I await your emails and thank you incredibly for your support and patience. Problems like these I'm sure plague all small companies but we care about our customers and I, the owner and founder, will email with anyone necessary so that nobody has a bad experience with us.

Thanks!

-LK
