Music from the Movies

Music from the Movies has been around since 1993, when the first issue
of our printed publication saw daylight. Today, the British soundtrack
magazine focuses on in-depth composer interviews and soundtrack reviews.
The magazine joined forces with Swedish film music magazine MovieScore
when the web site MovieScore On-Line was launched in 1998. Web site editor
Mikael Carlsson became the chief correspondent of the magazine and as things
turned out, MovieScore On-Line once and for all became the official Music
from the Movies web site about six months ago.
Music from the Movies web site features over 700 original soundtrack
reviews and a composer database which is unique in its combination of film-and
discographies.
The site also features a large archive of composer interviews and new
features are added about every two weeks. The most recent interviews include
a large interview with Richard Band, an interview with John Debney on his
score for END OF DAYS, an exclusive interview with Michael Giacchino on
his score for the computer game MEDAL OF HONOR, two in-depth interviews
with Howard Shore, two interviews with Don Davis on THE MATRIX and HOUSE
ON HAUNTED HILL, a chat with Elliot Goldenthal regarding his score for
TITUS, and an interview with David Newman on his scores for BROKEDOWN PALACE
and BOWFINGER.
Although the web site is maintained far, far away from Hollywood - the
webmaster/editor is a journalist living in Gothenburg, Sweden - we try
to get hold of all the latest scoops regarding soundtrack releases and
scoring assignments. We have been the first to break a lot of major news
in the past months, including Varese Sarabande's re-recording of JAWS.
A regular visit to our web site will always keep the soundtrack fan informed
on the current film music news. Always available on our site are comprehensive
lists of upcoming soundtrack releases and upcoming films and their composers.
