FSM's First Podcast!
Lots of exciting cyber-things are in the works for FSM at the moment (official
announcements coming soon!), and in that spirit we thought now would be
a good time to present the first official FSM Podcast. The first two
podcasts are on John Williams' upcoming Memoirs of a Geisha and feature
great sneak previews of the music. The conversation between Doug Adams
in Chicago and Tim Curran and Jon & Al Kaplan in L.A. is over a
noisy phone line, but the music's pristine, and we're in the process of
cleaning up the phone audio for the next series.
For those of you unfamiliar with podcasts, they're a way for
broadcasters of all sorts to get their content out over the Internet
airwaves like never before. Anyone, from respected news organizations
to the third-grader next door, can make a podcast -- all it takes is a
microphone, a computer and an Internet connection. It's really just an
mp3 file that can be downloaded and heard by any interested party. The
cool thing about podcasts, though, is that all you have to do is
subscribe through your software (Apple's iTunes is the best example) to
the podcasts you want, and that software automatically downloads the
latest episode of that podcast as soon as it's available. Then you can
listen to that podcast on your computer, or transfer it to your iPod or
other mp3 player for on-the-go listenability.
This is the first of an ongoing series of FSM Podcasts, on what will be
a regular to semi-regular basis; once every couple weeks or so, or
more, depending on breaking film music news, etc. So, all you do is
search the list of podcast feeds in your software, find FSM and
subscribe to it. Then each time we post an episode, it will be
downloaded to your computer automatically.
There are three options for hearing
this FSM podcast:
iTunes: Coming soon…really
soon. We'll update this as soon as we know what the link is;
XML: If you have a podcasting
application installed, simply copy and paste the link below into your
selected podcast player:

Listen Now: Click here
for a direct link to the mp3 of the most recent FSM Podcast. But keep
in mind, this won't get you subscribed to the podcast for future
automatic downloads. Only your podcasting software can do that.
We'll be getting a dedicated FSM Podcasts page up on this site very
soon, but in the meantime, you can always get back to this particular
page by going to the FSM Daily posts.
We hope you enjoy the first FSM Podcast episode and subscribe to them
from now on. Thanks, and let us know what you think!
