I know somewhere in the engine I had a thread on this score but I can't find it. Anyway I pick this up decades ago on a LP . It was a great score from a film that pretty much died at the boxoffice. I would just like to say after all these years it is great this one has seen the light of day. For anybody who is wondering about this score if you love a traditional film score , you will be happy with this. Solid score with a classic, fantastic majestic main theme , A winner for any film score lover.

Is the C.D. going a straight reissue of the original album, or is it going broken into tracks with some additional music?

FYI,

One of the titles I'm most happy about being part of this new releases is Laurence Rosenthal's score to the 1978 film BRASS TARGET, which was the very first Major Studio First Run release every by VARESE SARABANDE.

It has deserved a CD release for a VERY LONG TIME.

Now if you've not heard the score, here is the End Title for the film performed by the Grauke Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mr. Rosenthal.

It's really outstanding and I would urge anyone to pick this one up.

As I recall the original album had most of the score on it, those were the days when you didn't need wall to wall scoring.

Here is the tracking listing:

1. Mara's Theme / The Man From Switzerland
2. Violence In The Bell Tower
3. The Ferry On Lake Lucerne
4. The Weapon And The Disguise
5. Reminiscing
6. Setting The Stage
7. The "Accident"
8. The Last Of Webber / End Title (Mara's Theme)

I hope this helps

By the way, did whoever writes these album announcements not know that as well as Patrick McGoohan, Robert Vaughn also won an Emmy (for Washington: Behind Closed Doors)?

Had this on LP, loved the theme but whole score never really captured my imagination.
That could easily just have been my uneducated taste at 16, so will have revisit it as an old man.
I know the film didnt do great but i liked it. Interesting idea and good solid cast, cassavettes excellent and Kennedy decent.

I worry that this will sell out before I can grab a copy.

Oooh! I'm not familiar with this score, but Laurence Rosenthal is always a good bet and the cue that Ford just posted sealed the deal on this one. This sounds right up my alley.

Too bad it seems they ran out of traffic for samples. Hope it doesn't sell out before I get to sample it. And yes I've heard the youtube clips posted.
