I thought the book was supposed to be more durable, becuase the glue unbounding from the pages and the cover? It's my understanding that the book issue was corrected before the release of the first edition, hence a short delay in the release. Mr. Kendall could shed more light on the matter, but my first edition booklet remains in perfect shape. As far as I am aware, I agree with the poster that said get whichever one you can for the cheapest, because they are the same except for the "second edition" designation on the second release.    Posted:   Dec 12, 2013 - 2:03 PM     By:   Mat001   (Member) Some of the first run of the box set had problems with the book as the pages were falling out. This is part of the reason that the second run was done. The other reason being the high number of orders that FSM received and I think a technical glitch or two. But yes, they're identical. All eight discs are exactly the same. as are the contents of the book. Only the number 001 was changed to 002. As to price, if whoever is selling it is charging more than what was officially sold, then go with the second edition. I ordered mine from Screen Archives Entertainment when the second volume first came out and only had to spend a hundred and thirty dollars. Most of them I probably would have only gotten half of what I originally paid for. I am glad they went to better homes. As I recall...the initial printing of the Superman books had an issue with the binding that caused some of them to fall apart. It also sold out faster than expected. So we very clearly needed to print extra books to give people replacements, and it also made sense to keep the item in stock (e.g. make a second pressing/printing). We added some very minor indication in the books that it was the second printing. I also very dimly recall that there might have been some extremely trivial error or typo somewhere in the book that we corrected. I am not trying to be unhelpful, I honestly don't recall! Lukas, this box set tops all. A defining moment in your FSM legacy. I would think that would be a personal choice. Technically it is different. So if you are a completest you might want to hold on to it.
