He's channeling Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man and I think it sounds really interesting. Better this than a 2 note ostinato. Really too early to make any serious observations but I like the direction he's headed in. I think the only thing I'd prefer is on that last bar or so instead of repeating the trumpet line with 8th notes a 3 against 2 would have been slightly more interesting but that's my own personal taste.

Sounds like EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER's version of "Fanfare For The Common Man". :/

Now, this one I like. The trailer music is generic, though.

Will an orchestra be used or drums and guitar? Curious

I have a lot of respect for Hans Zimmer as a person and business man. He has made quite a name for himself, and in a sense has changed how films are scored. Is it all Zimmer's doing ? Of course not, but he has played a big roll. Budget, cost, many things have played a role. As a film composer I am neither a lover or a hater of Hans Zimmer. Every once in a while something like The Lone Ranger and Sherlock Holmes comes from his pen (and ghost writers) but as a whole I am not a fan of his output. I do love King Arthur and Crimson Tide, but there is just nothing like a real orchestra and themes. That is me. I am hoping the pendulum swings back again like it did back in the 70's when Star Wars came out. Personally, I wish Horner had been invited back (if he wanted to do it) but as with everything else, I will form a final opinion of what Hans Zimmer does for Spiderman 2 after I hear a final product. The clip seems ok, but nothing outstanding IMHO. Zimmer uses a real orchestra and themes in a lot of his scores.
