La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present the remastered and expanded re-issue of renowned composer Patrick Doyle’s (HENRY V, CARLITO’S WAY, THOR, JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT) original motion picture score to the 1991 Paramount Pictures thriller, DEAD AGAIN, starring Kenneth Branagh, Andy Garcia, Emma Thompson and Robin Williams, and directed by Kenneth Branagh. Composer Doyle goes Herrmann Big, crafting an intricate and robust orchestral score that is the melodic lifeblood that courses through the veins of Branagh’s twisty-turny Hitchcockian past-lives mystery thriller. Clocking in at over 78 minutes, this presentation greatly expands beyond the film’s initial soundtrack release, even adding original score material that was cut from the finished film! Produced by Dan Goldwasser and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this expanded release, limited to 2000 units, does one of the 90’s most notable scores long overdue justice. Exclusive, in-depth liner notes from film music writer Brian Satterwhite takes you behind the movie and its music, while Dan Goldwasser’s art design captures the film’s attractive gothic flair. Roman Finds Opera (Early Synth Mockup) = Sigh No More from Much Ado? big grin

I just noticed the same thing! So cool to know where that gorgeous piece started out, before it appeared in Much Ado two years later.

I hope those clips entice enough people to go for Dead Again! For those who don't own the original album or know what YouTube is, I would have highlighted the "Death Row" cue or even the "Dead Again" end title. But that's just me! Hope it does well for ye.

I have the original Dead Again and had meant to listen to it before the new version was released. I was always more taken by Much Ado than most of the rest of Doyle's output.

Wow some great (well many) great albums in those reductions and I few I've been meaning to pick up.

Starhawk is an absolute must have. Likewise The Cape and Human Target.

Fantastic voyage was a fascinating movie which makes one realize how precious life can be and the incredible design of the human body . The knowledge and the abilities of the creator of it, so wise and powerful. It makes me humble like many genre films do, how even the tiny things that are alive, be it us in our early stages or other forms of life can be vital for existence. We live with our bodies but do we really think how amazing it really is?TO GOD THERE IS NO ZERO I STILL EXIST.

I didn't really get into DEAD AGAIN initially, which was a surprise as everything else I'd heard by Doyle was just outstanding. Then one day...click! What was I thinking? "Winter 1948" especially pulled me in, opening up the rest of the score. I then watched the movie again, which I'd always liked, but this time it deepened my appreciation of the score. I was...hypnotized. wink

So I'm very eager to give this expanded CD many spins.

I'm also in for FANTASTIC VOYAGE, for the music & the design. Wow!
