This a beautiful score by a composer who was unknown to me before reading reviews about this score. I was able to watch the movie and the score really shines in it. Last time this novel showed up in the screen it was with music by none other then Antonio Carlos Jobim. I hope Guerra can get some international movies to score now that his score has been praised by many.
It is a very good score. Back in 2013 I had the opportunity to see a suite premiered live before the film opened, with the attendance of composer Alexandre Guerra, at a filmmusic concert held in Sao Paulo focused on war movies.
The 1985 TV miniseries music by Tom Jobim is also great. Its theme “Passarim” is a beautifull song by Jobim.
