...we are coming to the end of unreleased Conti scores. Which is a shame since there are still so many great ones to go. 8 SECONDS, THE BIG BLUE, SPY HARD, DYNASTY, FALCON CREST, A PRAYER FOR THE DYING, THE SEDUCTION OF JOE TYNAN, ROCKY V, ROCKY BALBOA, NOMADS and many more. With the exception of NECESSARY ROUGHNESS there haven't been any unreleased scores lately. LOCK UP was just a reissue. And the next Varese Conti will probably be THE NEXT KARATE KID. What a shame.

PRAYER FOR THE DYING and SPY HARD were most definitely released already...

Though I do agree that those DYNASTY scores really need to see the light of day. I just can't get enough of that title theme! And if the underscore is anything like the awesome heroic title theme then I would also love to see FALCON CREST get a release as well!

I'm surprised that given these shows' popularity, we've never seen these before. Anyone have any details at to why that might be?

You must not truly be a Conti fan since you forgot BABY BOOM.

How dare you, how dare you.

LOL LOL

I LOVE BABY BOOM! It's just that Roger said years ago there are missing reels. Hopefully they can be found.

No, they were not. Bootlegs owned by five people do not count.

not familiar with most films Conti scored (except Rocky), but I sort of like his score for the unmentioned "Goldengirl" (1979).

Spy Hard would make an excellent companion piece to the upcoming La-La Naked Gun set.

Henry, these may seem like strange words to try to cheer you up, but your "bad feeling" is based on nothing but your own negativity and self-pity. There is no real world reason to believe that all of those scores you list are lost causes.

I agree. But MV has said there is no Conti planned for 2014 from LaLa Land.

Well, Spy Hard would come from Intrada since it's a Disney-owned film.

Negativity maybe, but I don't have self pity.

You are very right my friend. Cds aren't important in the big scheme of things, I know that. I didn't intend for this thread be that serious.

Whoa! I genuinely thought the Concord CD of 'PRAYER' was indeed a legit release! Holy crap!

And sorry, I got SPY HARD confused with WRONGFULLY ACCUSED. Basically the same movie anyway...

Spy Hard is a much more fun score, though. I've never heard so many intentionally blatant rip-offs in a single score, and they are highly entertaining rip-offs.

Rip offs, or parodies?

As a huge Conti fan myself, my personal holy grail of his scores has always been Private Benjamin.

It's a very short score so would make a great companion to, say, The Seduction Of Joe Tynan.

One definition of rip-off is blatant imitation. Sure, the work is a parody and consists of blatant and sometimes exact imitations of scores from movies like True Lies, Speed, Home Alone, and of course the Bond stuff. There is no subtlety in the copies.
