Already been discussed and dismissed as misleading. Press release fails to mention that this CD is just a music and effects track and not from the master tapes (which are lost). Bummer.

If this is all there is, I’ll still take it. I’m sure if the original elements were available, they would have been used - I want to support this release as I really want to see A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING released - that is my only other holy grail in the CB special cannon:-) Good grief! I'm afraid that the classic "Fife and Drums Theme" from A CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING (for the scene in which Snoopy and Woodstock dress us in Pilgrim costumes) would be largely unlistenable for all the inter-character squabbling in the music and effects track. Sigh! Much of the rest of the score has already been released on the "Lost Cues" CDs. Still, childhood nostalgia has a gravity of its own for these treasures.

Good on Varese for including samples with plentiful sound effects, so you can really know what you're getting.

I missed out on the Lost Cues albums, so I'm pleased as punch to get this, but I am over the friggin' moon about Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas, and so will my sibs when I tell them!

Good on Varese for including samples with plentiful sound effects, so you can really know what you're getting. That was exactly why I grabbed cues/sections so folks know, at least our group who are dedicated film score fans that there were some sound effects on some cues. I do what I can when I can for us, I really do

Is there a Charlie Brown animated special that doesn't deserve to have it's score released? I can't think of one.

Is there a Charlie Brown animated special that doesn't deserve to have it's score released? I can't think of one. I think the tapes to Happy Chinese New Year, Charlie Brown! are lost.

I'll nominate It's Fllash Beagle, Charlie Brown, just to play along, though even that one has a catchy main title! I will admit that I lost track of the Peanuts specials after the 70's, though I'm a lifelong fan (got the whole Fantagraphics set). I had never heard of this one, and I wish, so, so much, that I was still ignorant. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4icq0g Dear God. (Actually, it's got some cute stuff, but Flashdance of all things?)

The one where Peppermint Patty gets pregnant and has to go around asking who did it? "You're the Dad, Charlie Brown!" I had forgotten about that one! 1984 or '85? Probably, because I remember recent Olympians Mary Lou Retton and Greg Louganis appeared in a live-action bit at the end.

Count me in for Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown (sans sound effects, obviously).
