I've got to say I'm veering off in the opposite direction. The moment I began digitizing my collection, the cd's were destined to find their place within the catalogued box, and the catalogued box to find its place within the store room. Of course, it is taking a while to digitise, alas.

James Darren? Yeah, baby! That CD includes all the songs he sang on DEEP SPACE NINE.

Nice sets, Zap, but you're missing at least three STAR TREK's, aren't you (IV, FIRST CONTACT and NEMESIS)? Well, I have those scores but they're in digital format so they don't photograph well. Where's your William Shatner album or your Brent Spiner album or your Nichelle Nichols album? Your also missing the Voyager and Enterprise CDs. Your set is not complete yet! It's just a fact I have to live with. But having it all would bring its own kind of sadness, because there would be nothing left in this world to dream about. Come on, you guys. I would especially like to see a nice James Bond collection.

I have only six Titanic-related CDs, so I enbig- uh, fleshed it out with printed material. I stopped and took the picture when I ran out of table:

I fully agree dude. I have actually been going through my boxes where I now keep my cds, for the purpose of cataloging (finally) on Excel the Manufacturer and label #. And going through these and actually handling them, made me want to pop a few in and listen to em. There is definately something satisfying in holding the cd, reading through the liner notes, admiring the artwork, etc. Yeah, digital is great and all because you can take it anywhere, back it up so that it's always around. But there is nothing better than browsing a cd store, or actually holding the cd itself. Made me think about all these iTunes purchases, and go back to good ole cd shopping. Or at least getting some used ones off of eBay.

Fun topic! I got so inspired by it that I went a little "nerdy" this afternoon myself, lining up my STAR WARS CD's on the table: Come on, man! Where's MECO's Star Wars disco album? I must admit, I'm very disappointed in you, Thor, VERY disappointed. Now, march yourself right over to amazon and grab yourself a copy on the double. Nope...na...no...I don't even wanna hear it. Just go, and while you're at it, grab some platform shoes, a wide-collared polyester shirt, and some tight-ass bellbottoms. Sheesh, what is this world coming to?

I'm really enjoying this peek at the other "collected works of..." out there. What are the other great franchises? Rocky, Irwin Allen, Batman, maybe more?

He, he...I actually DO have several of those tracks, plus some other STAR WARS-stuff (like dub remixes of the Jabba Palace tracks etc.) as downloads and digital files. But yeah, I'll readily admit that my STAR WARS collection is FAR from complete, nor do I really desire that. For example, I'm also missing the "must-have" Varujan Kojian recording plus all the Charles Gerhardt ones.
