From what I have read on here, most peoples' all time favorite scores are to older movies. So the question is .................. What movie that came out in the last 5 years has the best score?
To clarify....... I am NOT asking what was the best CD release of the last 5 years.
This is a topic I don't know much about, my interest in current theatrical releases (and the music that accompanies them) is pretty small and you might correctly guess that the ones I would be interested in aren't typical of the last 5 years. John Carter and War Horse had some really nice music but I guess I'd pick Lincoln, I like its sound world.
I like a thread like this, because in 5 years to pick a favorite I will be curious to check them all out if I have miss them. Because the odds are if someone loved them that much I probably will too, I hope we get some wide choices here, not LINCOIN over and over again.
Hmm. Two weeks ago I would have said Giacchino's Speed Racer, but now it's too late, so . . . maybe McCreary's Human Target -- that one certainly has been in my car's CD player since it was released and has gotten more play than any other recent score.
But there are quite a few I adore from the last five years.
