Well, here we go ...

Divisive stuff, folks. I didn't expect to become smitten with it at all, having frequently hated a lot of his stuff. I adored the main theme already, but the rest of it grew on me too.

You'll believe a Zimmer can fly!

Thanks for the review.
I have ordered the Deluxe Edition through my local Barnes and Noble, so I should get that next week. Looking forward to hearing it.

Well written review, thanks Chris! I completely disagree with you, but I appreciate your effort.

You lost YOR's credibility when gave 8 out of 10 stars to it.

Just came back from seeing MAN OF STEEL. Enjoyable movie, but Zimmer's music is wallpaper - nothing memorable whatsoever. 8 out of 10 - not in my book - more like a total fail.

Just saw the film as well. Wasnt really expecting much but i was blow away by it. Amazing, thrilling, wonderful stuff!! Thought the score was brilliant! Really carried the emotions and excitement of what was on the screen. Wallpaper?...nah. Yes its nothing like the great Williams score but neither it should be. Hans Zimmer hit the right note for the new approach. Im staggered by how much i liked this. Cant wait for the cd to arrive.

Great effort.

By the way, it probably was me you got the german vowel thing first since I posted that in different threads when the score was released. They are actually also spelled like this in italian, spanish ...
I was thinking because Zimmer is german that this was his idea.
You did not comment, but believe me, native speakers from those countries might feel this is just ridiculous.
(A few I know do).

And 8 of 10, a very subjective rating I think.
Well, what about sophisticated and substantial scores then,
30 out of 10, 32 out of ten?

But anyway, I very much like how you account for liking this!

So you're doing this on every film website ?

Using others threads on MOS to put your link ?

It's not like anyone cares about your review, you just want more clicks for your website... Man of Steel is just a good excuse to higher your poor statistics. smile

Actually it's true for most of those sites...

Er...what? Not sure if you're being funny but James' reviews and Site have been great reads for soundtrack fans for years. I might not agree with his point but that doesn't mean i dont want to read it. Leave the guy alone!

I do.

Seems to me that Yor wasn't entirely off the mark in that locked thread...

You lost YOR's credibility when gave 8 out of 10 stars to it.

This coming from someone who has no credibility here... means nothing.

Haven't you posted your thoughts enough times already? Maybe you should start another thread about it... that still won't make any difference to anybody.

Hi
Just seen the movie
I feel its zimmer as zimmer is, you buy Zimmer you get Zimmer, but the base line to me is for sure mocking the score to
BIRDY by Peter Gabriel

I enjoyed reading both reviews by Chris and James. Glad to see them both posted. We all know the "different strokes" cliché, and reading different points of view simply reminds us that we have different taste buds. Some may like a fine Malbec and some may prefer a mellow Merlot.

If YOR's opinion means nothing... why zimmertie is so angry towards him?

It seems to YOR that his opinion means something afterall!

I did it on a grand total of two - here and Filmtracks. Sorry if that felt excessive.

Be excessive, James. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that!
