Jarre's score is the most listenable of all three, though May's Road Warrior has the edge for sheer dramatic effect in the film. May's elegiac theme is also one of the most emotionally stirring film themes of all time.
I agree it's great to have the expanded Tadlow CD but I was a little disappointed with the mix on some tracks. "Max's Theme-The Desert" is ruined by that digeridoo that drowns-out all the other instruments.

Not by a few light-years it isn't. It's one of Brian May's better scores, relatively speaking, but that doesn't make it a great score (if you want May at his best, still not great, go for Missing in Action 2).
MM Beyond Thunderdome. Fine score, musically the best of the three by about a mile.

I'd have to disagree. Road Warrior is an outstanding action score, with not only an adrenal ferocity in the chase cues, but an elegiac and heart-shattering main theme (something not found in most other action scores). I'm hard-pressed to think of a better May score. I have an extensive May collection and I don't think any of his other scores come close.
In fact I thought Missing In Action 2 was a massive letdown and one of his least interesting to be honest.

Your comment about Missing In Action 2 -- that it is "May at his best" -- was even less technically descriptive than my comment about RW. I at least attempted to articulate my perspective.
