Seeing as the new X-Files boxset is still getting a lot of plays (at least in my vicinity), I've been going through my other Snow scores, and time and time again always come away impressed by how beautifully written and performed (small orchestra, but nicely recorded) his score for Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All is. Shame he didn't win the Emmy for it (or X-Files, for that matter). It's got that kind of sweeping, unabashedly melodic style that sadly went out of fashion over the last decade and stands on its own very well (have never seen the telefilm, not really interested). Anyone else a fan of this lovely, largely ignored gem of a score? The CD is long out of print, but sealed copies are very cheap second hand.

I revisited this TV movie a few months back and picked up a new copy of the score for next to nothing. I agree with you on this score. I love this genre and found this to be a wonderful addition to my collection. I too would highly recommend this little gem.
