Love the new site, very similar to another competitor (do you see each other as competitors?). Nice touch with the high-rez covers, I was getting them from your fb album, but nothing wrong with more options.

La-La Land Records, WEA and Warner Bros. proudly present the remastered and expanded, limited edition 2-CD set of John Williams’ Academy Award Nominated original score to the 1987 feature film EMPIRE OF THE SUN, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Christian Bale, John Malkovich and Miranda Richardson. Heralded as one of the acclaimed composer’s finest works, Mr. Williams’ masterful orchestral score seeks no less than the openness of the human heart, mind and soul – the perfect compliment to this powerful and indelible film about a young English boy’s emotional and physical struggle to survive the Japanese occupation of China during WWII.

This deluxe re-issue was produced, assembled and mastered by Mike Matessino in cooperation with John Williams, Steven Spielberg and the film’s co-producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall. Disc 1 contains a full presentation of the film score, including never-before-released music, while Disc 2 pulls back the veil of the creative process with a selection of alternate cues and other additional music. A 28-page CD booklet features handsome art design by Jim Titus and Matessino’s exclusive, in-depth essay, approved by the director and composer.

This July La-La Land Records Gets NAKED!

Coming Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 12 pm pst:

THE NAKED GUN TRILOGY – 3 disc set
Music by Ira Newborn
LLLCD 1303
Limited Edition of 2000 units
Retail Price: $34.98

Produced for La-La Land Records by Dan Goldwasser and Neil S. Bulk
Mastered by Doug Schwartz at Mulholland Music
Liner Notes by Daniel Schweiger
Art Direction by Dan Goldwasser

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures are proud to present a 3 disc set of Ira Newborn’s classic scores to THE NAKED GUN: FROM THE FILES OF POLICE SQUAD!, THE NAKED GUN 2 ½ THE SMELL OF FEAR, AND THE NAKED GUN 33 1/3 THE FINAL INSULT. Jam packed with fantastic heroic themes, action packed, heart pounding tunes and sultry, sexy film noir cop thriller music circa 1978, Mr. Newborn’s diversified score is right up there with AIRPLANE! and TOP SECRET as some of the best music this genre has ever offered. While only some of the first 2 films scores were previously released, the third film in the series is making its world debut in this set! Also featured in this collection are songs from the various films, including “I’m Into Something Good,” “I Guess I’m Just Screwed,” the Academy Award’s show-stopping number “This Could Be the Start of Something” performed by Pia Zadora, and, arguably the greatest rendition of “The Star Spangle Banner” ever sung, performed by the great Enrico Pallazzo (a never-before-heard prerecorded performance)!

Naked Gun and it’s sequel, 2 ½, have been completely remastered and expanded greatly. Mike Matessino had the opportunity to go back and remix the first film’s score to its original glory! The 36 page booklet features extensive liner notes by Daniel Schweiger that take you behind the scenes of the funny films and their magnificent scores. Composer Ira Newborn and the magical film making team of ZAZ (David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker) also lend some insight into these comedy classics. Dan Goldwasser’s art direction bring the zaniness altogether in one attractive looking package.

This 3 cd set goes on sale next week July 15, 2014 at 12 pm pst. This is our only new release for this week.

PLEASE NOTE: We MIGHT have a limited amount of signed copies autographed by Ira Newborn available at the time of the release. There is a 50/50 chance of us having them, though, there's only a 10 percent chance of that.
Keep watching our facebook page for updates.

La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures proudly present acclaimed composer Ira Newborn’s (DRAGNET, UNCLE BUCK, MY BLUE HEAVEN, INNOCENT BLOOD) original motion picture scores to THE NAKED GUN TRILOGY (THE NAKED GUN, THE NAKED GUN 2 ½: THE SMELL OF FEAR and THE NAKED GUN 33 1/3: THE FINAL INSULT) starring Leslie Nielsen, Priscilla Presley and George Kennedy, and directed by David Zucker (NAKED GUN, NAKED GUN 2 ½) and Peter Segal (NAKED GUN 33 1/3). This 3-CD set features the original scores to all three NAKED GUN films, with the scores to the first two films remastered and greatly expanded beyond previous releases and the world-premiere release of NAKED GUN 33 1/3. Mr. Newborn’s robust orchestral scores to this classic comedy franchise, (created by the legendary ZAZ team of David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jerry Zucker), are a wondrous explosion of thrills, suspense, high-octane action and passionate romance – and then there’s that iconic big-band-swing NAKED GUN theme, as iconic, indelible and bigger-than-life than Lt. Frank Drebin himself. This collection features bonus tracks and songs from the films as well, including “I’m in to Something Good,” “I Guess I’m Just Screwed,” the Pia Zadora-performed Academy-Awards show-stopper “This Could be the Start of Something” and quite possibly the greatest rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” ever recorded, sung by opera great Enrico Pallazzo (in a never-before-heard prerecorded performance).

The Sally Field/Kiefer Sutherland thriller? Interesting. JNH was doing a lot of good work in this genre around that time. THE JUROR in particular is another really fine, and sadly unreleased, score from that era.

I missed both threads so, thank you to you both. A rather exciting roster to be sure. Pleased, if surprised, that LLLR will be doing a Thunderbirds release. Despite it being TV, it never struck me as their sort of thing.

The Batman's, Thunderbirds, Arrow, Enterprise, Expendables 3 are certainly all on my radar.

VERY curious about JNH's EYE as well, what a left field choice - so left field, it has to
be a fantastic unheard gem, why else would LLL do it? Might just buy this sight & sound unheard....

Nope, definitely have one coming in September and a very ambitious one possibly out in time for our Black Friday batch...not to mention a good selection of them for 2015.

Very ambitious, huh? Perhaps all the surviving tracks have been finally sorted out to give us a complete Erich Wolfgang Korngold at Warner Bros. box? THAT would be ambitious!

I still can't believe no other complete Korngold scores have been restored since FSM's superb Kings Row / The Sea Wolf twofer...

Bernstein's THE TEN COMMANDMENTS is certainly ambitious, but I don't remember
if Intrada confirmed they had it, or that it was just coming, period.
