Second cd edition still not sold out!? So, no 3rd edition on the horizon probably!?

I wander when the tracklist will be available, I can't wait to see that it has the same contents as the downloads or please let it have more music (Like trailer music, demos, and alternates.....) When looking at the Youtube score it is only 54 minutes without the Frank Sinatra/ Elvis tracks! This will fit one cd easily.

What's on the CD will be the exact same as the digital version that is available.

You are talking about the 2 disc version?

Yes. The only physical version that exists.

Just saw the film myself tonight, and I was a little surprised at what I liked and didn't like. The only thing I will say here for now is that at times it was too d*mn loud but I coped. The loudness not helped in places by thumping low beats that felt out of place in the Blade Runner style.

As for the rest of the film, I will leave that for others to make their own opinions on.

I would never jump through such hoops for a CD of ambient noises. The sound track noises on the film were easily filtered from consciousness. I'm sure the movie is ok but I fell asleep.

For me the film got the score it deserved.

It is boring, overlong, with a magnificent surface and some great ideas that lose their power quickly because the story stumbles around, making big exclamation points when a lot of it is just hot air.

Villeneuve did not understand the original film´s appeal at all. In a way, he made the same mistake that Scott made with his two ALIEN prequels.

OK, I have listened to the entire score now. My opinion hasn't changed. I do really feel cheated. Cheated by:

1. Zimmer and Wallfisch: the only word that comes to my mind listening to this score is lazyness. I honestly think that anyone with a basic knowledge of playing on a synthesizer could have written a score like this. Or a better one, for that matter...

2. Villeneuve: he said thet this was one of the most beautiful and powerful scores he had ever heard. This proves only one thing: he mustn't have heard too many scores in his life. Beautiful and powerful are two words I would never use describing this score.

3 The record label: since we couldn't hear anything, not even a short soundclip from the score before the release date, I was bound to order the CD blindly, only hoping that Zimmer writing a Blade Runner score would be something extraordinary. (OK, call me naive, but that's what I was hoping...) So when they said it would be a limited edition of only 2049 copies, I hurried to buy it. Had they said there would be another edition just a couple of days after the first one, I would have definitely waited until I saw the movie and listened the music in it, and consequently never have ordered this CD. I do hope I can sell it later for at least as much as I paid for it, but now that the second edition is still readily available, I don't know...

Anyway, as you used to say, there's a good 2 minute long album somewhere in there. Namely in the track called Tears in Rain - written by Vangelis 35 years ago, which I already own on CD, so I want my money back!

So in buying the lossless downloadable album I saved myself 20 bucks for something that even isn't the exceptional and rare item that was advertised? No wonder you feel cheated.

I kinda liked the score though.

2nd edition seems sold out, too.
Will there be the 3rd edition? Make a bet.

Yep, looks like the 2nd Edition of the soundtrack sold out today. Bets on a 3rd edition? Yes/No?

I don't come here that often, so I guess I wish I should have. This is a bit of a venting session, so apologies in advance. I saw the movie last night and loved it! So I went hunting for the CD. I just now this evening learned about this exclusive CD edition and that two runs have now sold out. I was shocked and frustrated and knew the sell out was in part due to flippers. I went to eBay and found this guy openly saying he bought 65 copies. I just sent a tweet to Epic Records asking how they could let that happen. Of course, it's business and the deed's done and I just have to get over it. But at least right now, I've got a bad taste in my mouth to even think of buying the 3rd LE series if they announce it. It just didn't need it to be this complicated in my mind. Okay, rant over. Sorry again.

If you decide to give up your copy, I'm interested in buying it from you. I enjoyed the movie and as I said above, I tried to own it and was shut out. So lemme know if you do, I'd appreciate it.

There's a 6 note theme in the track Mesa which could have been developed or expanded upon throughout the score to greater effect.
I think this would have aided the film immeasurably and added a bit of emotional and dramatic heft, which the film sorely needed (in addition to some judicious editing and improved pacing).
I found the film a slog to sit through and well under par when compared to the original.
An unnecessary sequel, one I could never sit through again (although I feel this way about 90% of the films I see these days, even ones I quite enjoyed).

That melody heard in "Mesa" does show up again in the final track, "Blade Runner", but this track is more of an end credits suite than scoring a specific scene. I agree that this theme could have been used more often, it's one of my favorite parts of the score.

Been playing this from start to finish pretty much non-stop.
Definitely one of my favorite scores this year along with Alien Covenant, Spider-Man and Dunkirk.

Very excited to hear what's on the second disc. Most likely the more atmospheric, soundscape cues.

I keep going back to "Sea Wall" - some incredible stuff there and the best synth score I've heard in a long while.
