Hudson Hawk, loved your Jaws cover and wondered if it could be made into a rear cover, I've never liked either the front or rear covers that Varese used, anyway, I had a go at it, I hope you don't mind smile

Looks better than the real thing, but without the technical info.

dtw - Quality work, those all look very spiffy indeed. Not sure why anyone would want an alternate Take A Hard Ride though ...

Why not?

Simply because Jim Titus' LLL cover is unbeatable.

Made specifically for the FSM box set:

My take on Tadlow's Quo Vadis:

I think we both used the same image smile

It is indeed very good, and also the original FSM cover was one of their best of the early Fox covers (which were generally pretty hit-or-miss):

Oh agreed for sure. I did mine solely because Chris had that poster image and started off with the query about the fold lines and it was just irresistible to have a go, y'know? :-)

I'm seriously confused here, which of these is the correct FSM cover for Take A Hard Ride?

This one

or this one?

coo, that's weird. Discogs shows the one riding to the left; ebay has people selling both but mostly riding to the right. There's gotta be some sort of story behind that!

Wonderful work, folks!
Would it be possible to interest you in doing something for LLL’s new “Colossus: The Forbin Project” CD?
I never cared for the original movie posters and their attempt to co-opt Bondian imagery with the image of Kuprin reacting to being shot, Forbin and Markham embracing in bed, helicopters, etc.
The dated “Op-art” design with the repeating silhouette is only slightly better but has nothing to do with the film.
The worst yet is that for the Blu-ray with the same images previously mentioned emblazoned over a ghostly bald man with a glare. Sadly, this was also used for the CD.
How about something that actually involves the computer? The scrolling red light display was so prominent in the film. Why couldn’t that have been used to spell out “Colossus: The Forbin Project”? Add in Forbin standing at one of the interfaces, the classic triangle, the voice unit, etc. for a great cover.
Anyway, enough of my whining. I’d do it myself, but I no longer have any photo software on my laptop and I can’t install any either.
Thanks for listening!

smile

Great workaround cover Chris. I had to sacrifice Ustinov to fit the logo in smile

A teeth-sinker for sure. Though I have a good amount of Colossus material it would be a challenge to pull it all together for a satisfying end result. Interesting idea though ...

Loved that original TAHR design too.

A new take on an old cover:

An inspirational score:

I realize it's something of a project, but has anyone tackled covers for the Max Steiner: The RKO Years set?

Update:

New takes:

Here's a thoroughly cleaned-up version of the LLL/Universal cover. I'm happy that they found the original artwork but I'd say the bullseye was missed by leaving off the computer readout. Also disappointed with the way it's been slapped together in such apparent rushed fashion. Artifacts everywhere and some odd striations/horizontal lines at the bottom of the image - hard to believe it was done by a professional outfit.
