@Erik

You're wasting your time with that guy.

Let it go.
Everybody in a clear state of mind can see, he is a nut.
Time and time again.

As our very own David Sones said the last time you did this:

"Don't feed the troll, folks."

Glad to see that there are still 1000 people who care about Mr. Herrmann - he has always been in my top five film composers and his music has informed my life since I was eight years old. And the music in this set is diverse and wonderful and 1000 people are in for a real treat.

Same here - he's in my top 3. I was very happy to see that Santa (aka my wife) took the hint I left yesterday morning as to my gift this year. smile Now the struggle is to wait for it to arrive after Christmas.

I strongly suppose that there are far more than 1,000 people who "care" for BH's music.
But far less than 1,000 customers actually ordered this set.
Many sets have been bought by resellers.

Ha. I hopped on Facebook on Monday morning, shared the Varese link, and said this was now the one and only item on my xmas list. Who knows, maybe one of my friends happened to win the lottery or get their inheritance! No... not really.

You mean bought by retailers? That's what SAE and Moviemusic are, music retailers. I bet 3/4 of them were bought by individuals at Varese's website.

Sure, retailers, too.
In the end, only Varèse knows the exact figurs.

Hard to know if he means retailers or resellers. But anyone who thinks that retailers ordered huge quantities at two hundred bucks a pop to make twenty or thirty bucks profit is mistaken. Varese gives no discount to anyone on the club titles.

If he mean resellers as in eBay, again, someone would have to have a lot of discretionary income available to make that kind of on the come investment in a title that may never bring much more than its original cost. It's still available everywhere BUT Varese - SAE has them, I presume Intrada has them, moviemusic.com, etc.

So, to those who missed it at Varese, it's still available and get it while the getting is good - it's an amazing set and knowing Nick and Mike as I do, I'm sure it's going to sound the best it can possibly sound.

No. He means the greedy people that are snatching up the copies for ebay
and jacking up the prices leaving those who want it at there mercy.

Well.... I have to say good for them. if it wasn't for the reseller I wouldn't have my copy of
Inchon ($99.00) Varese Flesh and Blood ($125) Mulan promo ($99.00) Varese 2-cd The Robe ($125)
I have not bought allot of cd's at those prices. But I have to say that they were well worth it.

Given the price, copies may be around in Europe at Colosseum for a while:

But we're releasing it the week before you with even longer programming and an actual robe. We're only charging $49.98 for it. smile

Well whoever buys this, I truly hope you enjoy it.
I pass on this one. I've grown weary of buying and rebuying the same material. Yes yes I know, I'll miss out on the audio of Bernie flicking cigar ashes on the first violinist and other such gems. But as with the Danny Elfman set, I already have a vast majority of this music either originals or re-recordings. But thats me.
Having said that, I am glad it sold so well so as to encourage other box sets perhaps I would be interested in.
So congratulations Varese.
