We can probably rule out anything from Spielberg/Lucas.
There's also the possibility of a Mel Brooks/John Morris set. I'm hoping for some kind of Kubrick set myself.

Endless clearances. So... multiple composers? Songs? Something re-released where the studio owns X and the record label owns the rights to Y?
Yeah your onto something. Endless clearances means multiple rights issues. So it's either a collection of scores from different studio's or a series that had songs in them.

So....Lethal Weapon. You'll get the scores plus all the songs. No brainer.
TALES FROM THE CRYPT Would be fantastic, but is 8CDs enough? Didn't this series run about 7 seasons? Maybe it might all fit, one disc per season plus extras?
As much as I would like a TFTC set, keep in mind that like a lot of its episodes, the scores weren't always top quality; I think 8 CDs should be a good representation of the best of all those different composers.
I think the people at LLL can take heart that, whatever this big set is, it's likely something that half the people here have already unknowingly expressed disdain for.
If it's Tales from the Crypt, I'm wondering why they didn't release it as a Halloween title (albeit slightly delayed). It just might've taken a week or two for it to ship, though. I don't know the timeline from approval to printers to manufacture.

"Every scrap of music we could find" suggests old scores. "Endless amounts of clearances" could mean songs. So it can't be anything else but an 8CD set of scores that feature Frankie Laine vocals:
Gunfight at the OK Corral (Tiomkin) Rawhide (Tiomkin) Bullwhip (Stevens) Strange Lady in Town (Tiomkin) 3:10 to Yuma (Duning) Man Without a Star (Salter) Gunslinger (Tiomkin) Blowing Wild (Tiomkin)

Yep, has to be. Songs from various artists, 4 movies + 2 CDs. Warner Music owns the rights to the original albums and Warner Films owns what wasn't used.
I'll bet the boys at LLL are sitting at the office, laughing their asses off... "I can't believe not ONE person has guessed the 8 disc set yet!"
Would they be laughing? I'd be wringing my hands in anxiety if I was sitting on 3000 8CD sets that not one person (in a thread of 26000+ viewings) has expressed a wish for.

People don't know what they want until you show it to them Steve Jobs
^ True. I'm guessing that if it isn't something already mentioned, based on the quantity and price it has to be something that people will think "Oh, I never even thought of that! I'm in!!"
Of course, I've been wrong before which is why I am in no position to sell anything.
Spending 120USD for 8CD box set is quite challenging idea.
My guesses for box set: LW box, Young Indiana Jones box, DC animated universe box. I would be pleasently surprised by "24" box set or Buffy TV series box set.
