Saw the availability of the score on Amazon at half the price... cutting to the chase; what is the most expeditious method of cancelling my MusicToday order? Do the run around with MusicToday or just go direct to my credit card and dispute the transaction? I'm sitting on some anger here.

Some assh*** just listed 10 copies of this for $49.99.
But
he states in his listing that they are the 3rd edition!
And
rare & hard to find

When did a 3rd edition get listed for sale?

lol that's the same clown who bought and sold 70 copies of the 1st Edition. I haven't heard of a 3rd Edition either unless what's being sold on Amazon is the "3rd Edition?"

I would presume that you're 100% correct.

So, I've a question: with the Music Today people in Virginia patiently awaiting the arrival of the physical copies of the 4,098 "Limited Edition" copies to mail off to their customers; and with Amazon and other mass retailers presumably waiting for their physical copies to arrive, what's the chance that everyone gets the exact same physical product (regardless of whether they ordered Limited Edition 1, Limited Edition 2 or the Mass Market version); and the sole difference between them is an "alternate" front/slip cover on the two limited editions with the hand-written number?

The chances of that are 100% lol. But the limited editions will probably just be stamp numbered. No where does it mention hand written...

The last hand numbered disc I got was the limited Dragonslayer - I still have it.

90% of these posts are about ordering issues! Crikey!

Anyway...

The 90-minute soundtrack release is almost unlistenable, IMO. So I assembled this 53-minute playlist for anyone wanting a more succinct listening experience (with emphasis on the Vangelis-like stuff over the "action" stuff):

1. 2049
2. Sapper's Tree
3. Rain
4. Sea Wall
5. Memory
6. Mesa
7. Joi
8. Wallace
9. That's Why We Believe
10. All the Best Memories are Hers
11. Blade Runner
12. Almost Human

In addition to removing some tracks, I've also rearranged the sequence slightly to allow for better listening. That is, I've kept "Mesa" (as the best track) midway. I've put "Sea Wall" and "Wallace" as 4 and 8, to break up the ambiance cues slightly. While the long, 10-minute "Blade Runner" contains segments I'm not too fond of, it also works as an end credits suite of sorts.

I think this will work for me for now.

Thor, but... But I think that you prefer albums as they was released?
So if this one was released in 90 min. presentation, you MUST listen whole 2 CDs.

Of course you could pass on later expanded edition, which will come in next 10-15-20 years smile

The 10-minute "Blade Runner" track is the end credits suite from the movie. Also, I'm surprised you didn't include the track "Someone Lived This". It's a really powerful moment in the film and one of my favorite tracks on the album. And I would definitely drop the "Almost Human" song. It's not even in the movie or the end credits. But other than that, that looks like a pretty good playlist/arrangement. I'll probably use that with a few minor alterations. Thanks for sharing.

Same. This whole thing has been a bait and switch. I feel like logging an FTC complaint.

I received this today.

Something isn't right.

Thank you for participating in the Blade Runner 2049 pre-order. CDs are still in production and your order will be delayed slightly. Orders are now expected to ship on or around November 3, 2017. You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order ships. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thanks again for your support.

Thanks,

We all received that message. The annoying thing is knowing we're waiting an extra two and a half weeks past the original ship date because they're busy madly mass producing CDs for Amazon.

What will piss me off to the point of lodging a complaint is if there is truly no distinction between all these CDs—pricier "limited" editions and 50% off Amazon editions—apart from a one-sheet slip cover.

Such a strange situation.

It was odd in the first place, such a major film and composer going download only with a limited cd edition, and even that was so short notice and so close to the film release. I suppose the limited cd run sold surprisingly well and the opportunity to make more money was too tempting.

That said, it's clearly dubious treatment of those initial buyers. There clearly should be something substantially unique about the limited CDs else it's a major rip-off.

Who knows an extra track or two might be added to the limited release to make it limited again. An extra CD was added to the DE Boxset over the uproar over the second run of the limited first run batch.

If you send a polite but firm email to the company who you paid, requesting to cancel the order, they will refund your account almost immediately.
Worked for me.
