I know this is a holy grail for many. But after listening to the samples once again I really don't hear what all the fuss is about. Out of Africa meets Black Hole. Though those are much better scores. Happily passing on this.

Wow. You're a buzzkill dude. You said the same thing in the Dreamscape thread. Do you ever comment on scores you actually like? Or do you just want the world to know what CDs you're not buying ? Cuz guess what? Nobody cares.

Little sensitive are we not? So I should only comment when I like a score, then ppl will care? BTW, to my recollection I have not commented in the Dreamscape thread.

Don't see this posted on SAE's website anymore... Looks like a limited pressing killed the beast.

My three favorite John Barry scores now out of print: The Last Valley, Mary, Queen Of Scots & King Kong. I'd better take good care of those CD's.

What, the King Kong, yup, it's a nice looking Blu-ray. If only there was a good looking Blu-ray of The Last Valley. Another great looking French Blu-ray you can't get in the US is The Phantom Of The Paradise (both are multi-region). I always check France & Germany, that's where all the interesting Blu's are being released these days.

Can you confirm the BR is a longer version than the US cut?
Does it have the longer bar scene where Bridges says "we'll always have this monkey on our back - we'll never be able to look each other in the eye if Kong dies..."

thx!

No I don't think so, I just had a look at the bar scene & it's very short, & doesn't have that dialogue.

Is this a European bluray? Is it region locked?

I think people can stop worrying about not getting their copies of this, Wild Bunch or pretty much anything, for that matter, cos they will all come out again sometime soon, from another soundtrack label. Of this I'm sure! Maybe Kritzerland will put out a 6CD set of Kong and Wild Bunch for the price of an orange! wink

Me too. I've missed a couple of releases lately but I'm glad I nabbed this one before it was gone.

Ordered this last Saturday before it disappeared, no shipping notice yet. I am sure SAE is slammed with orders of all these items that are disappearing, but I really hope to get a notice soon!
