Are any UK buyers having trouble ripping the tracks in iTunes?
The tracks will rip fine (haven't got to disc 12 yet) but no details are being added except for the disc title, disc number and composer. No track details seem to added. I didn't want to have to add them manually as I seem to remember that someone had uploaded the details to iTunes.
Bad news for me. Yesterday I got a notice from the German customs office. The set arrived three days ago. But the customs office is holding it back until I show them an invoice in German language!? Wow, that will be difficult with an international order. I hope I can reason with them. That's German bureaucracy.
Lukas, As this set was your dream project, I was just wondering out of curiosity, what your favorite Ron Jones Next Gen scores are? Looking forward to my set... wish Canada Post wasn't slow like molasses!
Ed from SAE got back to me and he said he will make sure a replacement disc for me is out in Monday's mail. Good to know they'll be on top of that.
I shouldn't say the whole disc doesn't rip. Track 31 about 4 minutes into the track it sounded like it was skipping after I ripped it in Audiograbber. Then about 6 seconds into track 32 I get the same problem. When I ripped track 31 in Adobe Audition it would hang up at that particular moment then just not rip. So there's a definite problem with the disc itself when it comes to ripping. Everything else is fine though.
Maybe you can try to burn a CD-R of it and rip the CD-R. It helped me once.
The problem is the disc itself. Lukas did also mention that there had been replication problems with some of the discs. Even if I burned a CD-R copy of it, the problem would most likely still persist.
At least on my copies, discs 8, 12, and 14 are all flawed at the end. So the last tracks for The Price, Best of Both Worlds, and Star Fleet Academy. Be sure to check your discs for any similar problems. SAE has promised to send replacement discs. It's so wonderful to interact with such an honest label!!
SAE will replace any wonky discs. Email them and explain the problem.
The pressing plants do not guarantee discs over 74 min. long. Usually it's not a problem...sometimes things happen. It's very annoying for us too. Sorry.

But really, almost all of them. Not partial to the "clips" show (Shades of Gray) but who is?

All I do is just ask in the comments section , I need a replacement for Disc ? , no problem they replaced my disc 12 and its much better. Im not done listening to all of it yet but I know SAE will replace my disc if need be. They are Top Dogs and Bark Bark to Gracie
Enjoying the boxset immensely. Especially season 2-3. Still need to make a compilation of fav cues.
Wanted to share this, I had the booklet signed by Dwight Schultz (Lieutenant Barclay) yesterday. He was attending the facts convention in Gent. I chatted briefly with him, he told me "The Nth Degree" was his favorite tng episode to perform in. I also asked him about working in First Contact and he told me at first he wasn't associated with the movie, but Jonathan Frakes called him out of the blue and said they needed an extra officer so he was delighted. A pleasure to meet him!

Pretty Cool , Lieut. Barclay was one of my favorite characters on the show, well done. I also liked it that they used his character in Voyager as instrumental in bringing them home.
Back from the German customs office. I paid 21 Euro customs and additional 25 Euro financial penalty, because I was foolish enough to confirm that SAE's customs declaration was correct. Unfortunately the officer was prepared. SAE has already been registered in a database as a company, that made wrong declarations in the past. He printed out SAE's product page with the "real" price of the set and asked additonal questions. Then he gave me a choice, either I pay the penalty or he is going to initiate criminal procedures against me.
That would have been something... Who can say I have a criminal record because I ordered the Ron Jones set? So I paid and finally got my signed copy of the set. I'm happy to report it was worth it all. Thank you Lukas for releasing it.
Sorry for my bad English. I'm still a little bit shaken after my visit at the costums office.
My signed box arrived Saturday, with an £11.91 customs charge.
I finished listening to the first 4 discs last night.
It's absolutely magnificent. The music is amazing (more amazing than I gave it credit for in the show), and the presentation is superb. Frankly, Skin Of Evil is worth the price of the set alone, and everything else is a bonus!
No dodgy discs yet. I checked disc 12 last night and is okay. Fingers crossed!
A huge thank you to everybody involved in this - especially RJ and LK!!
