Anticipation is fine and necessary, but let's not get pissy about the titles we want not being out yet.

Where did you get pissy from?

are the Friday the 13th scores now going to be released individually as I missed out on the ultra limited box set

Well, Pt 1 is available individually now, and 2-3 will be very soon. I'd recommend picking them up and showing your support for re-releases of pts 4-6 smile

A few years ago (around the time of the Pt 1 reissue), MV said that they probably wouldn't release 2-5, and if anything else gets a reissue it would be Pt. 6. Obviously the demand was there, and they changed their tune. But if you want 4-6 as well, the best thing you can do is support this release, and make your hopes and dreams known for the rest smile

The box set is great, by the way - I still get a lot of play out of it, especially this time of year. Same with Varese's Nightmare set. Would love to see similar treatment for some of the other long-time horror franchises - Child's Play especially, but also Halloween (or at least the later ones that haven't already been expanded), Hellraiser, Leprechaun, etc etc.

Not that I particularly understand the business end of these things, but it seems to me that the limted/very-limited box-set model may work very well for this kind of thing. For instance, I almost certainly would not have shelled out $15-20 apiece for Puppet Master scores piecemeal, but I picked up the box out of both score collector and horror collector's interest. A lot of horror fans are big collectors as well (although it's seems, in my observation, that a lot of them are riding the vinyl trend at the moment).

Sadly, Christopher Young has John Corigliano's attitude to expansions, so nothing for Pinhead in the near future... frown

From the La La Land Facebook page:

"Just spent the weekend with 7 cds worth of product we plan on announcing for BLACK FRIDAY and that's just HALF of what we have penciled in for our big release date this year!

HORN TOOTING ALERT: We may have outdone ourselves this year with this slate. Now we play the approval waiting game as to what makes it and what gets released in 2018!

Start saving them dollah's 'cus this batch is gonna make ya hollah!"

I am terrible at guessing and judging from last year I only predicted Beverley Hills Cop but like many others I was completely blown away with Jurassic Park.

What we know is CE3K and 'The Swarm' are coming whether they may the cut for 2017 is the question, or they are already approved for the announcement date in addition to other BIG titles!

Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And don't forget DS9 Vol 2, Buffy boxset, X-Men, JFK, Police Academy 2, Diary of Anne Frank, MacGyver, some Batman animated stuff, and I seem to recall mention of David Newman/Michael Kamen/Danny Elfman releases in the pipeline. My number one hope if they can sort out the rights is She-Ra.

Nobody is pissy, just excited and grateful for this gift that nobody thought would ever happen.

Well, Jesus is pissed and he's packing heat, according to some rustbucket truck bumpers.

I keep nudging an winking at Varese online about seaQuest, and keep reminding them that the show was set in 2018 and that I'm expecting something next year. smile

Also Justin, did you see what John Debney said on reddit recently to my DSV questions?

I was hoping you could share a little bit about your experience working on seaQuest DSV?
Varese Sarabande's soundtrack only contains about 29 minutes of music, and it is one of my favorite television scores. Are there any episode scores that you would like to see released in the future?

Lastly, have you ever listened to the seaQuest DSV, Super Nintendo Video game score? It sounds like the game's composer Dean Morrell took your music and re-interpreted it in 16 bit format. Would love to hear your thoughts on it. You can listen to it here: http://www.originalsoundversion.com/game-soundtracks-for-your-soul-level-10/

Back in the day I was writing for television a lot, and one of my favorite periods was writing music for Steven Spielberg's 90s shows. SeaQuest came out of a relationship with Steven as the result of a pilot I did called The Class of ’61, which was about the outbreak of the Civil War and West Point cadets.

SeaQuest was one of Amblin’s big television sci-fi shows, and Steven personally asked if I’d do it. Of course I immediately said yes, and looking back it was an amazing time for me. I would get notes and input from Steven on episodes very often, which as a younger composer was an unbelievable experience.

As I recall there was an episode on that show about an extra-terrestrial visitor, and that was one of my favorites, as well as another episode about the ghost of a shipwreck victim that had a romantic twist to it.

As a side note, I also was lucky enough to work on Tiny Toon Adventures for Steven. If you get a chance check out this episode, which happens to have a reference from pretty much every iconic "Hollywood" score ever written up until that time.

It was a really fun experience and Steven seemed thrilled at the end result.
With regard to the second question, I absolutely love it! So cool. I live for hearing those kinds of creative interpretations of scores. Bravo!

Not explicitly stated but gently implied LLL have it.

Thanks for the thread link. Still a little vague about The Swarm but then again why would La La Land respond "Nope" in a Quartet thread. That could mean something.

Yes LLL is almost certainly doing The Swarm, and also on the Goldsmith front, an improved 100 Rifles. (They said thanks for an artwork suggestion for it in another thread.)

I have just noticed that the October flyer is for the 10th only. I recall on a seperate thread that there were potentially 3 release dates for Oct- 10, 13 and 24.

I think LLL will give us the chance to save shipping charges. So we can buy all October releases in one combined order. This is a very welcome offer from LLL and I hope LLL will do this every month.
