Anniversaries- well Planet of the Apes is another one maybe LLL has something in the works or is that still a Varese perpetuity title?

Superman is another anniversary, maybe one of the box sets is the annimated series which was debated earlier last year?

Fingers crossed for COLUMBO box sets, possibly one per season!

Columbo scores wouldn't need box sets if they were released by season. I painstakingly did complete score breakdowns for all of season one (the longest, especially if the two longer-than-usual pilot episodes/scores are counted) and it is sparsely scored enough that *all* complete episode scores should be able to fit on a single two-disc set, unless there are significant alternates or unused cues. See my posts in this thread here:
http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3369&start=0

As for box-sets, I hope to see (at least) The Adventures of Batman & Robin - I think that 20 episodes could fit on 4-6 CD-set.

They can definitely fit on a 4 disc set. LLL's Batman TAS Volume 3 (four discs) fit 24 complete episode scores. A better question when they get around to The New Batman Adventures (ie. "Volume 4" on the DVD release of Batman TAS with the revised animation but consistent orchestral scoring) is whether all 24 of those complete episode scores will definitely fit on four discs, because LLL's Volume 3 was a tight fit.

In PERFECT world I also hope that LLL will start kickstarter campaign (or in another way) for the rest scores from S:TAS...

I'm pretty sure in this very thread MV has mused about the possibility of a big set (9 discs, did he say?), more limited and at a more premium price, which would take care of the entire rest of the series' scores. Volume 1 barely broke even, apparently, but I'm sure he wants those great scores out there as much as any of us...so maybe it'll happen some day. I'm betting this year we get The Adventures of Batman & Robin though.

As for a title like Armageddon, that usually falls under the Intrada/Disney deal. They seem to have a monopoly on Disney brand products. Let's hope an expanded comes out! I know I would buy that!
MV

The weird thing is that in 2013 BYU/SAE reissued Intrada's premiere program of Disney's Those Calloways by Max Steiner (I think they tweaked the sound and re-did the packaging, including making the liner notes booklet even bigger):
http://filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=99886&forumID=1&archive=0

I remember at some point Ray was asked how they were able to do a Disney title despite Intrada's monopoly, and he acted like they just called up someone at Disney and it was no big deal, no special effort or approval needed.

Anniversaries- well Planet of the Apes is another one maybe LLL has something in the works or is that still a Varese perpetuity title?

The original and second sequel (Escape from...) are indeed held by Varese in perpetuity thanks to their 90s expansion. (I have heard that they only control the previously unreleased music, but that is enough to stop any other label because why would a label re-release just the original truncated album?). The other Apes films were released by FSM and presumably LLL could tackle remastered reissues if they were so inclined...but how well do Leonard Rosenman and Tom Scott sell? On the other hand LLL did bring out the complete scores for the TV series and Tim Burton remake so they do love the franchise...

RE: Horner scores to expand -- if there is any unreleased music from his Zorro scores, I would gladly re-buy them. smile

Well yeah, I know about that great piece of source music -- wasn't 100% sure if Horner composed it. Any other unreleased score that you know of?

Yavar, just to make sure I'm understanding you clearly, when you say "the entire rest of the series' scores" are you talking about the Star Trek franchise, including TNG, DS9 & VOY? If so, I prob missed that comment by MV, but I would be 100% behind it.

I'd be willing to pray a high price indeed to fill out the collection, particularly TNG scores. Having as complete as possible a set of TNG scores has long been a dream and I'd spare no expense to have it come true.

I think he was referencing the animated "Superman."

Correct. The original poster I quoted was asking about further volumes of Superman: The Animated Series. (Wouldn't Star Trek: The Animated Series be abbreviated with an "ST" rather than just an "S"?) There is absolutely no way releasing the complete Trek TV scores would be remotely feasible. I'm grateful Lukas was crazy enough to do Ron Jones's TNG scores complete, but even I wouldn't buy complete sets for the rest, and it would take an insane number of discs.

Gotcha. Thanks--obviously read too quickly! Eyes saw what they wanted to see :-)

I realize the "missing" TNG scores are essentially off the table at this point, but I can dream right?

If there are specific cues you still want from TNG, start a thread about it because LLL has talked about doing a big 4-disc "fan requests" volume to finish off all of the modern series at the end (one disc for each of TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT). I'm fairly certain there are still some things people requested for the Anniversary Collection over a year ago that didn't make it onto that set (I compiled the TNG and DS9 requests for Lukas).

Fox Horner titles...my favorite for an expansion would be COURAGE UNDER FIRE.

It's a very personal score to me.

Thinking it over, every Fox film Horner did has been expanded except for Once Upon a Forest, and for that one if there were instrumental-only versions of the songs on that score that'd be great, otherwise I have no idea if it's missing any music. Just remembered there's also Willow, and of course AVATAR, but that film as I understand it wouldn't be possible because of its age.

When Fox Music's own "Deluxe Edition" was only expanded via synth demos, that's quite telling.

With LLL tackling so many Williams Universal titles, maybe they can get SNEAKERS out like they wanted to several years prior. Making commercial versions of Apollo 13 and Grinch would be cool. Undo the damage by those two scores having awful song/score/dialogue compilations.

DS9 Main Title (The Way Of The Warrior version) with the added synth bass and cymbals. This version is unique in that it was only played once for that season 4 premiere episode - the full length version on DVD not the syndicated two-part split version, and never released on any CDs.
DS9 / Voyager commercial 'bumpers'. Voyager's "Caretaker" CD had a bumper on it, and for DS9 I still have my old broadcast TV-to-tape versions of all six bumpers. Digitized them years ago.

Those are (still) my hopes for inclusion on whatever "leftovers" set comes out.

Off the top of my head:

Any of the missing Wesley chase music from "The Game" (if there is any missing).

The rest of the score to "Silent Enemy".

Some more from "Smililatude".

The "Star Trek: Voyager" series finale commercial music. Yeah, it's trailer music, but it's never been released and people have been asking for it for years, including when it was used in other non-Trek trailers.

The trailer music for the "All Good Things..." finale:

Also, a neat idea: finding any score from episodes that was dropped.

Would be fantastic.

Apollo 13 in complete form would be such an instant buy for me.

'cause this year ist 25th Anniversary of "The X Files" (First Episode aired September 10th 1993) and the 11th Season is airing right now, I hope for a great X-Files Year (besides all the other great Releases) with

X-Files Volume 4 (4CD Box)
X-Files Season 11 (2CD Box)

and a poll for the 25 most wanted Episode Score in Full Length (would suffice in digital form) for the Hardcore Fans.

Call me a Believer wink

I'd rather have a complete release of the score from the second film, honestly.
