I have a prediction Intrada will OWN 2014, followed by Varese and its rebirth.

Kritzerland will dominate the Golden Oldies, while Music Box and Quartet will continue to surprise us all.

Perseverance and BSX will have their best year ever!

As for us...

Ah, please continue...! smile

Will someone at BSX finally learn to read and RESPOND to e-mails from their customers? Now if that would somehow finally happen, it would be their best year yet!

I have a prediction Intrada will OWN 2014,

If they start mining their Disney relationship at an increased rate, it's for certain.

followed by Varese and its rebirth.

Hopefully they will focus on expanding things other labels can't access. Not only 90s titles but older scores they put out in the 90s or stuff they control for other reasons like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (because of their re-recording, maybe they can reissue both that and the complete film recording) and Eye of the Needle (they put out their re-recording as an Encore Edition, but the complete original score also survives and was a missed opportunity for a Deluxe Edition; hopefully this can be remedied as The Great Escape was).

Kritzerland will dominate the Golden Oldies,

Of that I am certain, now that FSM has sadly closed its doors, SAE/BYU have slowed their release rate, and Intrada and you have never focused on them...but I hope we still get some good titles from you guys!

while Music Box and Quartet will continue to surprise us all.

They have been able to come up with some surprising goodies, haven't they?

As for us...

perhaps some complete versions of Goldsmith's
The Sum of All Fears
The River Wild (with Jarre's rejected score)
Dennis the Menace
Link (if decent sources for the extra music included on the footwarmer can be found)
The Secret of NIMH
High Velocity (love this underrated gem)
The Trouble With Angels (with the album recording as well as the premiere of the complete film recording)
In Harm's Way (if Paramount or someone manages to locate the tapes for the complete score)

Pretty please?

Yavar

My (easy) prediction: Intrada 2CD Conan The Destroyer

I had no idea there would be such a long stretch of time between the two Conan releases. Something to look forward to, though.

I totally forgot about this. Though it would be a Xmas title. But now that I think about it, Intrada moved two Dec. titles until next year.

I'm sure there will be plenty of Jerry Goldsmith releases (or at least a few), and I hope and pray that The River Wild or The Ghost and the Darkness deluxe/expanded/complete are among them! Easily my most sought-after Goldsmith scores.

Batman TAS Volume 3 is a good bet, I'd say. Last we heard that was due for 2014. The Matrix Revolutions is probably another realistic prediction.

Realistic Predictions:

Intrada Records:
  • "Mulan"
  • "The Ghost and the Darkness"
  • "Young Sherlock Holmes" 3CD
  • "In Like Flint" (the re-recordings; Varese holds the originals in perpetuity)
  • "Rio Conchos"
  • "The River Wild" (rejected, Jarre/Goldsmith)
  • More Broughton.
  • More Harline.
  • Another double western header with multiple composers involved, but least of which Alfred Newman.
  • "Buck Rogers and the 25th Century" (Season 2)
  • Another Holdridge documentary score.
  • "Conan the Destroyer"
  • "Something Wicked this Way Comes" (rejected, Delerue)
  • "Betrayed" (Conti)
  • "Spies Like Us" (Bernstein)
  • "The Rocketeer"
  • "On the Waterfront" (Leonard Bernstein)
  • A bunch of Disney titles, films and animated.

    La La Land Records:
  • "Batman: The Animated Series" (Volume 3)
  • "Superman: The Animated Series" (Volume 1)
  • "Dennis the Menace"
  • "Matrix: Revolutions"
  • "Liar" (video game score, Debney)
  • "Ladyhawk"
  • "Enterprise" (Volume 1)
  • "Star Trek: The Next Generation" (Volume 2)
  • Another TV series set we haven't imagined yet.
Speaking of LLLRs, where's the teaser list we usually get around the end of the year?

    Perseverance Records:
  • Highlander

    Unknown labels:
  • "The Ten Commandments"

    Kritzerland Records:
  • Re-issues that everybody will bitch about, as usual. In advance: GET OVER IT.

    Quartet Records:
  • "Good Will Hunting"
  • "Patrick"

    Varese Sarabande CD Club:
  • I predict a good deal of those "in perpetuity" titles, will start showing up in deluxe editions starting next year...

    EDITED:
Sorry, I did mean "In Like Flint", not "Flim-Flam Man".
