And now FilmMusicReporter.com is reporting he's scoring the "Constantine" TV series. !!! I don't know how he does it. Agents of SHIELD, Walking Dead, Black Sails, Outlander and Constantine all more or less simultaneously? You forgot about two, believe it or not... DaVinci's Demons and Defiance. But they aren't really simultaneous. Theat television landscape has changed such that he can more easily score all these shows on a staggered schedule. (Agents of SHIELD and Walking Dead and soon to be Constantine are the only ones that more or less follow a traditional TV season schedule... the others either air during the summers or on an odd non traditional timetable which probably allows him to score them in between the others) And he's also got a newborn daughter recently on top of scoring all those shows. Surely he's got assistants working on some of the score with him. Judging from Bear's vague Twitter post about Comic Con, I wonder if there are any more as-yet undisclosed projects that he is also scoring...

Presenting, the Outlander main titles https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSppjlCIDU8 All I get is that the video is unavailable (not even that its region restricted, like the Outlander panel is) Sorry don't know what to tell you. Is working fine for me It's an official Starz video clip too.

I did see the theme on another site, but don't have the link handy right now. Raya's vocals sound incredible, as always^. The theme itself isn't a Bear composition, it's an arrangement of a traditional Scottish song, and it sounds beautiful. I wonder what this means for Emmy consideration - are arrangements of an existing tune eligible?

For me the less exciting thing about all this is he's gotten too busy to release music. When La La Land was fairly involved in his career you could usually count on a fairly steady release of product. I don't really have the time or inclination to watch most of these shows and the certainly not to dwell on them and find the great musical moments. Sparks and Shadows seems like, and it still is, a cool idea for a composer to see more of the residual and, in theory, get more music out into the world. But I can only assume, Bear needs an involved hand in all that at it just feels like he is justifiably way too busy. If this music never sees a CD it's kind of all a moot point to me. Which is a shame as I am a big supporter of his music. Who knows maybe we're in a lull and the output will come flowing forth soon enough. You do know he has his OWN RECORD LABEL!!!!! I can tell you that there will be soundtrack albums to both OUTLANDER and AGENTS OF S.H.E.I.L.D more then likely before the end of the year based on the information I've been told. As for INTRUDERS, I suspect that will come out as well on his own label, but this is just a guess on my part. Ford A. Thaxton

He's released almost every project he has worked on, which honestly is pretty impressive since not a lot of current TV score sees a regular soundtrack release. Davinci season 1 and 2, Black Sails, Defiance, BSG, Human Target, even The Cape which bombed all saw releases. About the only thing of his that's not available is Walking Dead, and that's totally not his fault - if it were up to him, he would have released that years ago, AMC just has a stick up its butt and is more interested in releasing pop music with the Walking Dead brand on its label. I think he's just kinda given up on a Walking Dead release for now.

And Bear mentioned another film, Everly, and it sounds like he's already completed the score: "This year, director Joe Lynch and star Salma Hayek gave the world the first glimpse of our collaboration, Everly. The film, which debuts next year from the Weinstein Company, is a genre-bending savage action film with horror and comedy elements. My score features authentic Japanese instrumentation, intimate chamber orchestra, hardcore electronics and memorable vocal performances. See more at: http://www.bearmccreary.com/#blog/blog/films/comic-con-2014-highlights/ I wouldn't be at all be surprised if he's already working on projects that have yet to be announced^^. That's why I'm not quite as worried about him being overloaded - at any point in time, likely half of his stuff is carefully scheduled and already in the can.
