I'm personally hoping Safan is mentioned first for a good reason. He needs a disc to himself. But at the very least Opening Day and To See The Invisible Man should be presented in their full glory.

Before the track list is even available, I hope there's more to come. After Safan, I thought Robert Folk's contributions were the most impressive (not including inhouse composers Merl Saunders / Greateful Dead). But he's not listed on the box. Neither is Morton Stevens.

Really want opening day as well along with profiles in courage.

William Goldstein, who releases his own promo cds, said he couldnt do his TWZ scores because of copyright. I wonder exactly (not hypothetically) how McCarthy got to release his scores?

Goldstein did release it on iTunes.

Holy crap! It's coming from Intrada next week!

Hopefully, Her Pilgrim Soul will be in the set.

NO Morton Stevens....NO sale! This has got to be the first and only release from Intrada that I am totally disappointed in.

To leave off a respected, veteran Composer such as Mort, I just can't believe it!:-(

yes, a year later. This is an old thread bumped up for the occasion.
The mp3 downloads were announced last year:

1) How do you know Intrada had a choice? They may not have been able to find tapes.

2) If you boycott this release because Stevens isn't included, that will only help guarantee that they will never produce a follow up volume which would presumably include his music if it survives.

Looking at imdb profile in silver is either on or not on set. Did Basil Pouledoris compose profile in silver or Robert Folk?

Well, this could have something to do with why the Stevens scores were not included:

No need to be - sorry if I sounded snippy or snarky. I was just explaining why my post was outdated.

I emailed Mr. Goldstein last year if I could get a cdr instead of downloads, but I never got a reply. I'm wondering if he was aware even then about this release.

There's also a composer and episode list on pg.15 of issue 15 of Randall Larson's CINEMASCORE magazine. Although it's a magazine this has a spine like a book; has Ridley Scott's LEGEND on the cover.

The same page also lists episodes and composers for ALFRED HITCHCOCK PRESENTS and AMAZING STORIES.

To the best of my knowledge, he was behind it himself.

This series score is full of so many mini-gems that I suppose a release of a small portion was bound to attract as much attention for what is not there.

You can cram a lot into three discs, but my main worry is that Goldstein and McCarthy appear, as they have self-released two whole discs of this stuff. Including these promos, three discs of this music has seen the light of day already (inc the Silva Screen Merl Saunders disc). EDIT: the Goldstein disc is only 33 mins long, so if it all reappears here, it's still only 1/6th of the runtime available.

Anyway, hoping for the best, and that the set is successful enough to warrant a further volume down the line. Aside from the Morton Stevens and Robert Folk scores already mentioned, there's more of Merl Saunders / Grateful Dead presumably existing, as well as the option of re-releasing the previous Silva disc content and bringing the whole series into one fold. Do The Grateful Dead have enough of a CD buying fan base to make this a guaranteed decent seller?

It's at a great price, with a current option for signed copies, so fingers crossed it's a success.

Nervously awaiting a track listing, hoping Safan's best ever work is finally coming to disc...

Yes, I know. By "this release" I meant the pending Intrada. If he knew about it last year, that might explain why he didnt offer cdrs, although it doesnt explain why he never replied.

Oh, gotcha.

Although they are popular, his scores were never the ones I was personally desperate for, so was waiting to see how this release panned out before buying his.

But at the point I decided to just buy it anyway, it was only available as a download. I'm pretty sure though it was initially announced as a CDr, and the artwork I saw online included 'spines'. Its on Spotify currently.

There's the conundrum. I did get the McCarthy promo cd, even though I've only seen one episode in the series. Some day I'll get around to the rest.

Speaking of promos, you might still be able to buy Goldstein's cdr of his "Aliens Are Coming" TVmovie score:

Craig Safan has been added to the signing at Creature Features today for anybody lucky enough to attend or thinking of purchasing a signed disc. Which is cool since this is, IMHO, his masterpiece. He was absolutely on fire from 1984 - 1988.

He also did some nice work on the '80's "Ripley's Beleive it or Not!".

Son of the Morning Star really should get a rerelease from Intrada. Very impressive score. If his TZ work is better than this.... Damn indeed.
