I'm definitely up for 'Escape From LA' and am curious about 'The Blue Max' release. I'm happy with the Intrada but I have an open mind about a possible upgrade.

The attitude to re-releases on this board, whether straight or expanded, is at times incredibly ingracious to newer soundtrack collectors. I've been importing limited CDs since 2008, and there are still titles beloved to me that I missed and that are either unobtainable or attainable only at ridiculously high prices. La La Land themselves did me an incredible favour with their recent releases of The Fury and Fantastic Voyage. I simply could not have afforded 2nd hand copies of the initial CDs. To instantly dismiss re-releases as worthless or a waste of time is a reductive and incredibly petty stance to take in a community where all we want is to own that music special to us. I own the Intrada Flesh+Blood - a buy based only on the samples, and I'm delighted with it. I never expected to love the score so much. I'm equally delighted that now a thousand more people will get to own this music and enjoy it as I do.

More Walker is *always* a good thing. I'm surprised at this one only being 1500 copies -- you'd think it was a Golden Age score or something. I'm also happy to see Flesh & Blood reissued. I was able to snag the Intrada, luckily, but this is one that deserves to be in print and their 2000 copies went in just 24 hours or so...I wouldn't be surprised if these 1200 copies vanished pretty darn fast. Matrix Revolutions is my favorite of the trilogy, music-wise (film-wise, it is spectacularly awful of course). I think the original Matrix score may be a bit more brilliant, compositionally speaking, but Revolutions is by far the most enjoyable, with some gorgeous orchestral writing, so I'm looking forward to this issue. What I am REALLY excited about though is The Blue Max... NEW ART BY JIM TITUS? NEW JEFF BOND LINER NOTES? REBUILT FROM THE GROUND UP by MATTESSINO and BULK? I am THERE! I think Jim is going to do a kick-ass job on this one, I wish Jeff Bond was able to write track-by-track liners for EVERY Goldsmith score (too bad Varese didn't let him do it on Nemesis), and ALL of Mattesino's full restoration efforts have been breathtaking! Sure, it's a re-re-re-reissue, but LaLaLand has brought out their A game for this one! It's going to be awesome... Also, I recall in the Intrada release's announcement thread that there was some discussion that a few cues on their release had some audio problems (some people said they'd be keeping their old Sony issue to supplement the Intrada), which I'm sure a complete rebuilding would fix. As suspected that new Blue Max cover is AWESOME! Worth the upgrade alone...by the way will this 2 disc set be $24.99 or $19.99? Yavar
