First: I can understand everyone, who missed the first edition of that great score and is happy now, to get it.

The point is, I now several stores and international ebay markets, were you could get the first edition even now for a resonable price, so everyone who wants this score, could get it.
So there was not really a need for a re-release NOW.

You see for example: There`s another really great Friedhofer score, wich release would also be a re-release, but the original CD was nearly 20 years ago released (paired with another score of the composer), and this one could need also a better soundmix AND an expansion:
THE YOUNG LIONS.

Can you see the difference?

Because of the reasons I mentioned above, there would not really need for a complain about a re-release of SUCH a title (and YOUNG LIONS is just an example). Not because I prefer the music of that score more(or something like this), just because its REALLY long ago, that a CD was released, and it is REALLY hard to get now and the sound needs REALLY a new treatment.

These are (in my opinion) truly good reasons for a re-release (or Encore, as you prefer).

Dont you think?

Kritzerland has gone the encore route before, but with his titles being so limited--more so than the other labels--what's the bother?

So that those who didn't get it the first time can get it now?

Exactly. Only the resellers will complain. wink

(Sigh). Posts about "I already have this - I want you to issue something new that I want and requested!!!" Sad. This was a wonderful limited Kritzerland release which sold out in a few days - yes - the K standard is 1000 copies. I have it and love it. It was something I never thought we would have in a CD let alone in such a complete format (I have the original Liberty LP also). I think so often we forget about those who have monetary issues at the time of release or are just new collectors (Bless Them!!). They deserve a chance too! Be Kind!!

I bought this 2 CD set from Kritzerland when it first came out. It's a GREAT Friedhofer score, don't miss it. If you don't now have it I encourage you to buy it this time before it sells out.

I have been looking for something to do on the side - sort of an entrepreneurial adventure. I think I may have found it. It seems there is a market out there for adult-sized pacifiers or as my kids used to call them - binkies!

BTW, thank you Bruce. I missed the first issue.

Just want to be clear here - the alternate main title was not available back when we did the original release nor was the three-track main title. Both were found much later. Again if you have the original release you're fine

For those like me who purchased the original release: Could you post a clip of the alternate main title on your product page so we can decide for ourselves?

I'll see if I can make that happen this evening.

Bruce,

Better still you could post a download link for the real alternate main title so previous owners can have the track. It should be a .aiff or some other lossless format, not an mp3.

I get your annoyance, but this is a new version. If you want the updated version, you gotta buy the updated version. Or, sell your original and buy this version. Done and done.

While that would be lovely, no, we can't do it - we do not have any digital rights for any track - samples, yes, nothing downloadable.

And you should plug it - and everyone should go read it.

I don't personally care at all about the alternate main title and don't want or need it.
But the first release had a production error. The track from the Jayhawkers was included by mistake and the track that should have been there all along is now going on the "Encore" Edition.

But as a corrected disc now exists and it's no more than what was meant to be in the package in the first place, it might have been a good idea, at the time of pressing the new one, to press some extras of Disc One and offer them as replacements to those who bought the original Disc One (assuming they care about it enough to return it in the mail at their own expense to Kritzerland).

I doubt more than 50 people would have bothered.

I meant to get the first edition when it came out but somehow I never did. I'll be sure to pick this up this time.

Excellent, your track run down should be included in the CD liner notes booklet!

While The Jayhawkers track was indeed a "mistake" it was made because the tape was mislabeled, not through anything on our part other than a lot of smart film music people not realizing it wasn't One-Eyed Jacks - to that I and a couple of others can plead complete stupidity. But the point is, IF we'd realized it, we simply would have left the track OFF the CD. There would have been no alternate main title on CD 1 because it wasn't found until years later. That is the simple and easy to understand point, I think.

I bought the first release, a huge favourite, I still listen to it a lot. This, Goldsmiths Rio Conchos & L. Newman's The Last Wagon are my three favourite non-spaghetti western CD's. If you like Friedhofers music, then this is a must-have. Maybe one day a great looking Blu-ray?

Still holding out a very slim hope for another Freidhofer western, White Feather.

Looking at Go Fund Me and thinking about that adult pacifier thing. Very tempting!

Is a clip of that piece still a possibility?
