Thanks Henry my friend for the information. By the way it will be great to meet you again. Unfortunately I am still ashamed of my little mishap during last time we met but on the other hand I am not sure if I am going to any of the concerts this year...or not.

No worries! I forgot about it because losing stuff has happened to the best of us at one time or another. I don't think there is going to be a group concert effort this time anyway. Look forward to seeing you again.

A Friday gathering would probably work better for me, but I'll be there with you whenever the gathering is scheduled. See you in late August.

Steve

Unfortunately THE BRIDGE at 736 Salem St. is in an industrial part of Glendale. The closest hotel is the Day's Inn over 10 blocks away as you can see by this map but is a straight shot east on Salem and then north on Pacific:

Indeed getting together with others to stay at one place is a good idea so you can carpool. THE most attractive place in the area is the beautiful Americana mall (also over 10 blocks away next to the massive Glendale Galleria) that was designed by the Disney people and has a little streetcar and fountains. But the closer you stay to it the pricier things get.

Well, Now I have booked my trip...and I will stay at Days Inn.

So therefore I now wonder if there are anyone else who is going to stay at that hotel?

Peter,

Will the panel event on Saturday August 30th be done in time for those of us with tickets to that night's Hollywood Bowl / John Williams concert?

My plane tickets are booked, I'll definitely be in LA that long weekend!

Tobias, I'm planning on coming, but trying to get the hotel logistics down first. Could you email me at kcthescore@aol.com. Would love to connect and hopefully book a room when you are staying. Cheers!

JUST ADDED:

This man has scored the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program, and in 2009 it surpassed Gunsmoke as the longest-running American scripted primetime television series. I am talking about THE SIMPSONS! We welcome Alf Clausen to Fans of Film Music 5!

Henry, thanks so much for the map. Since I'm NYer and I walk everywhere, 10 blocks is nothing for me, but I would love to pick a hotel that a handful of us can share and carpool around to and from.

Anyone else thinking about choosing the Days Inn?

And of course I'll be there!

I'm with you there in spirit, Mark! And per Thor, Motel 6 sounds like luxury accommodations compared to where you and I ended up that time.
