I've just watched The Peacemaker for the first time in years to check out the score. It was actually the first ever Region 1 DVD I imported, way back in 1998! (It wasn't coming to laserdisc... and so format migration began!)

The film holds up well, and I found the score very good, very driving. Elements of The Rock, and Broken Arrow in there in small measures, but overall I'm definitely onboard to buy this. I don't think I'd have enjoyed the original suite presentation at all though - Broken Arrow was the same for me, I barely listened to it until the LLL release.

Thank you as always to LLL for continuing to produce albums for the DC Comics animated films. They're always great, and the composer has turned out a lot of good stuff for DC over the last few years smile

Peacemaker trailer music AND an alternate vocal take?! YES!!! (Also, I never realized it was Lisabeth Scott who did the vocals for that originally. If I remember right, I could never find the credit for who did it...)

Lisbeth IS the alternate vocal. She doesn't appear in the score. The vocalist in the score (and original soundtrack) is Mamak Khadem, who was credited on the original album.

Oh weird! I just pulled out my booklet and you're right, Mamak Khadem is credited. Which makes sense since Hans Zimmer seems to always give credit to people. I must be thinking of a different score which is going to bug me now if I don't remember haha... And I thought The Peacemaker orginally would be just a tad too early for Lisbeth Scott (who I think I first took notice of on Spy Game if I remember correctly...) But that's even more interesting! Was this Lisbeth Scott performance newly recorded or something?

I wonder if they're including the choral music sung during the final cathedral chase sequence.

The Peacemaker 2CD is going to be an amazing set...

...but yikes, the track titles. "Dr. Kelly Is O.K. / Dr. Kelly Got 10 More"? So many of these track titles are awkward and repetitive, regardless of who named them. Like, track 5, do you really need three track names for a cue that's less than 2 minutes long? razz The original album track titles were models of succinctness.

Small concern, no big deal, the music is the most important thing and I'm damn excited! Thank you La La Land!

On the one hand yay Peacemaker on 2CDs and 2.5 hours of music ... On the other hand I have 55 minutes of that already from the original album.

It's been a long time since I saw the movie, are the original versions quite different than the suite versions from the original OST release?

Those titles I suspect are what they are called on the cue sheets for the film itself.

Which makes the the legal copyrighted titles that are listed with the publisher and ASACP or BMI.

Which is why I suspect they are listed not this album in this manner.

It's been a long time since I saw the movie, are the original versions quite different than the suite versions from the original OST release?

Yes and no. The suites are obviously that: suites. So in addition to being made up of combined cues (anywhere from 2 to 3 or 4 smaller cues), those cues have themselves been edited down in a few different spots. So if what is finally released is anything remotely like the unmentionable, then the pieces in and of themselves that make up the suites will be expanded a bit. But there is still 50+ minutes of music that wasn't on the CD, all of which is high-calibre excellent material both of the loud epic kind and of the quieter sadder kind. Not to mention the trailer music.

Other question: does anyone know where the "Peacemaker" track, OST #5, came from? It's not on the DVD at all, it seems to have its origins only on the OST, and it's made up of pieces of music not found anywhere in the film.
