So is this the start of a new lineup from Varese, "Vintage Soundtracks?"

-Rick O.

1989 is considered vintage? Christ, how old do I suddenly feel?

25 years ago. A quarter of a century. This isn't helping, is it? big grin

I hope the new cover shows a little less man boobage. (Not that there's anything wrong with that).

If it includes the Jimi Jamison (Survivor) song "Ever Since The World Began", I might bite.

I 100% agree! If it has the song I'll take it....again.
Fast sell out for sure. I give it 3 days tops.

Anybody else wanna guess? this is always fun

Surprising release!

Has Varèse ever re-issued a score from an other label that wasn't out when the film hit the theaters? Or even an other labels limited edition?

Yes. They reissued (and expanded on) The Egyptian, for which the original tracks were first issued by FSM. Also if you count their Bernard Herrmann at Fox set, there are titles like Beneath the 12-Mile Reef...

Guys, I'm told that it's going to be some kind of mid-line reissue like WHOSE IS KILLING THE GREAT CHEFS OF EUROPE which is good news if the information is correct.

It's been out of print for something like 5 Years, so it will be nice to have back in print when if it doesn't have anything extra on it over the last release.

Yes they have.

All those MGM titles that Ryko had were reissued by Varese. Same goes for Planet Of The Apes and some Fox titles as well.

They (Varese) also re-issued FIRST BLOOD, HOUR OF THE GUN and the expanded POLTERGEIST II among others.

Mid-line in record biz speak means a release that is priced as follows:

In the old days, a release over 14.98 was "front line"

11-13.98 is midline

under 11 is/was budget.

Ford is right

In limited edition-ese it means the price will be in the range of 13-14.98 since most sell for $17-29 and up.

How many times has Stallone been in movie prisons? This, Tango & Cash, Victory, Escape Plan, Demolition Man, First Blood, and nearly so with Judge Dredd.

I get off of work in time for the announcement so that's good.

I believe I might be reaching the end of my CD purchases. How do you say it, "Hell has frozen over"? Varese is releasing a title that a different label released? We already own it so someone can have our copy. I can get a good nights rest.

I partially agree. I much rather have an unreleased title, but it's nice that someone who never got the title now can.
