Another beautiful cue by George Fenton Lovely! Amazingly, I have yet to see this film. I'll get to it pronto. Thanks for the clip. And my favorite score is: The Adventures of Baron Munchausen by Michael Kamen, even if Mr. Williams had a small (but pivotal) role as 'Ray D. Tutto'. RIP Mr. Williams. Your gifts have touched so many of us.

Is that Ford Thaxton person not going to also berate the originator of this thread the way he did with the otherwise identical one asking posters to name their favorite score to a James Garner film? Ah, disappointing.

I don't think there is anything to it, really. Robin Williams has past away. He was beloved by the public and apparently also by those who knew him person. Many newspapers, many TV stations run obituaries, remembering his movies and performances. Threads like this one are simply a modern form of sitting together and reminiscing; not much to object to here in my book.

A discussion on the non-filmscore side, which is already there is a lot better all around. Perhaps. Perhaps not. I agree that threads like this are rather nerdy, and they are certainly not "neccessary" to appreciate anyone. But they are not ill-natured either and not meant to be irreverent.

perhaps - perhaps not? Well, it does diminish the life and death of a person when we use their name in our thread title, and then proceed to talk about filmscores. Yeah, this guy died- so sad, now let's talk about the score from Flubber, it is just tacky. I would be less offended and not speak out about this if this was a once in a blue moon thread, but the past year, this has been a very frequent thread about a lot of celebrities that passed away. It is really getting out of hand. You do realize that people will be BUYING and SELLING Robin Williams movies in the aftermath of his death, don't you? Better go on Amazon and scold those people for being "tacky", too. Just about everyone here knows of Williams and any other celebrity because of their work and it's well within the bounds of good taste to remember the joy they gave us through their films--and the music contained therein. Think of it as a wake and either accept that the majority of people will pay tribute to said performer's work or don't accept it but please, please, PLEASE refrain from judging others for doing it. You're the one who looks "tacky."
