This Publix pizzicato piece is particularly puzzling!!! I've reviewed dozens (hundreds?) of cues on the APM Music site, from various labels APM represents, and I've come up with empty.

I'm betting it's a cue from the Capitol Media Music library, but the site where one used to be able to audition some of the tracks is currently down. frown

Whoa, whoa, whoa -- I appreciate the help, but please don't waste your life searching hundreds of tracks for me -- not even I do that for me. And I'm me.

If anyone ever finds out the sources to the music in the original THE THING trailer, please let me know. I have no idea and it's driven me crackers for years.

Folks, can anybody identify this fine piece of vintage jazz? It's the third (mark 3:06) piece that starts after End Credits from SLEEPY HOLLOW which is followed by Radar from TDTESS. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you really want to spend some time...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzek0QJ-orw

This is ripped from a documentary from 1970 called "The Tribe That Hides From Man". No composer is credited. I thought since maybe the material has running ideas threw it that perhaps it was original music, but it could easily just be a track job using cues from the same composer.

I tried some searching myself, asked around, came up empty.

As I wrote about the film at another forum:

about Indianist Orlando Villas Boas, who goes deep into the jungle to try and make contact with the elusive Kreen-Akrore tribe, who have slaughtered everybody they have come in contact with, down to children, since soon buildings and roads will be coming in.

Will he make contact? Will he and his party be murdered?

It's tense, and just a good way to spend a little over an hour if you got some free time:

A lot of the all-percussion tracks sound like fairly generic Brasilian carnival/batucada rhythms. They could be anyone, and if you can't find the exact recordings, so can certainly find plenty of similar things.

I dunno what it is, but it seems to be a musical variation on 'It's Magic' redone in the style of 'Pink Champagne'.

No composer is credited and no music use is credited (likewise nothing on the soundtrack page for it on IMDb).

I'm, sorry I can't help with THE MAN ON THE LEDGE music. BUT, a trivia question... is that Steven Ritch (from 1956's THE WEREWOLF) as Joe, the owner of the diner?

However, I have a question of my own. Does anyone know what this music is in REQUIEM FOR A HEAVYWEIGHT? It appears at 2:45 and 12:44. Usually, early CBS shows (before they started recording the CBS music library tracks in 1957), used mainly classical fragments grabbed from records. For instance, some Virgil Thomson at 1:02:53 and earlier.

Anybody recognize the music in this? It's just opening and closing credits.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6Hjuuv4rfk

The beginning and then the end credits which start at 1:17:03.

No composer credited, but it sounds like a track job.

I wouldn't recommend watching it. The only funny person there is Finney, and he's only two years into his career and hasn't fully devloped into the hilarious man he quickly became a few short years later. The whole thing is painful.
