What an unbelievably thoughtful thing to do. Thanks to Mr. Ratner and Mr. Kendall!
Well it would have been even nicer to consider subscribers overseas but I guess we don't matter in the great Hollywood scheme of things... oh well, I already have the CD and I fully intend to buy the proper, feature-laden DVD when it comes out so I'm not too fussed.
Mine was addressed to my husband (but then, our magazine subscription is in his name too), so when he got it we thought it was because he is in the marketing department of Time-Warner. Now we know the true story, but that doesn't make us any less thankful to Mr. Ratner & the FSM crew.
Of course, I couldn't sleep last night after seeing the movie...but it was still a very thoughtful gift!
Hey awesome deal! we overseas subscribers always get jipped!
Brian
Now I'm psyched.
Are you an MUC?
With the 6th Fleet Band or CinCSouth?
I spent 9 of my 23 1/2 years in the Navy in Italy -- 7 of them in Naples. I was there from 87-92 at both Nato and NavBrcstServDet-7 as Station Manager -- that was when NSA was exclusively in Agnano. I know all has changed, but it's great to see someone who is both in the Navy (active) and in Naples posting to this list!
Found mine today when The Lovely Laura and I returned from Christmas at home in Southern California. Helluva nice thing; and I am looking forward to playing both discs, as I never got around to seeing the film or listening to the music.
Man. Got mine today, came aboard (huh huh) to inquire and had no idea this thread has been here the last few days. Anyway, you figure you've been pouring your heart out in praise of the stuff, never expecting anything more than return conversation, and then you've got mail. What a pleasant surprise.
Christ on a cracker, you can't express any kind of positive sentiment these days without someone shitting on you.
I was listening to the music and remembered I got it for free and thought I'd express my appreciation to FSM on the FSM board. It's not like I was writing a fan letter to fucking Ratner.
