It's SALE15 according to Drivingmissdaisy (Third post on the first page).

CORRECT, just put SAVE15 in during checkout and you are golden!

the plural of vinyl is "vinyl records", not "vinyl's"

"Vinyls" is not a word. The plural of vinyl is "vinyl" like deer is the word for multiple deer. Or you could say records. Not trying to be a jerk, just educating.

However, vinyl could be used in the possessive form -- i.e. vinyl's -- if used in a sentence like "This vinyl's not top grade stuff".

What you have there is a plural possessive.

Not to be too picky, Ron, but I'm sorry to disagree. "vinyl's" as you use it in your example is not a possessive, just a contraction of "vinyl" and "is." A possessive "vinyl's" would be, for a example, "Upon receiving the record I ordered, I discovered that the vinyl's quality had been overstated in the advertisement." (...the quality "of" the vinyl, that is).

I love these little exercises in what we've all forgotten from English class...

"Vinyls" is now an accepted term to mean what we used to call "records" or "LPs."

Used as far back as this 1950s Men's magazine

Isn't that kind of long hair for the 50s?

It actually looks photoshopped.

It's not working. I type SALE15 as instructed and I get a message saying: "This code did not match any active gift card or discount. Was it entered correctly?"

I'm using Chrome. I'll try again using Safari and will tell ya if it works...

It starts working at 12:01AM Los Angeles time Friday November 25th Milky Way Galaxy. Remember when labels talk about announcement times, it's always the time zone THEY are located in smile

It's already 12:45AM in Los Angeles and the code doesn't work for me.

This code did not match any active gift card or discount. Was it entered correctly?

And you should start a sentence with an upper-case letter, shouldn't you? razz

Now THAT was funny! I wish I had that kind of time to be able to go to posts and correct grammar of other posters, but I'm too busy living life and there are more important exciting things to do smile

In other words, continue doing your great work, enjoy your life don't and don't give 2 shits about the grammar police. The Catastrophe of the Apostrophe it ain't! wink

So, Varese thinks they're going to generate business with a fake Black Friday sale?? I guess their thinking is that people will add items to their carts, enter the code, see it doesn't work, but buy anyway? Doesn't seem like a good strategy to me. Pass.
