Why did it not surprise me that you would be the first one to say this?

You can always count on me to give a thread a reality check when it needs it.

And you have way too much on your hands taking the piss, don't try and hide behind a smiley ya patronizing nit.

"patronizing'

Just ignore him, he's the most fanboyish of the fanboys around here. He's just PO'ed because he didn't think of the idea first; or more likely, he did think of the idea, but you beat him to posting it to the board.

No, I just had better things to do.

Relax guys, what Ford said was not that big of a deal. He simply stated that it was his opinion of me. I didn't ask for it, but he's allowed to think what ever he wants. It's not a cold hard fact. Now, Ford assembling the Star Wars Trilogy boxed set incorrectly using the wrong takes is a fact. See the difference.

Wrong Take, in a couple cases you are of course right, but on the other hand, try putting together a 4 CD set in four weeks with no paperwork on how the scores were put together in the first place and what takes they used.

And you should also mention Mr. Nick Redman, he approved it along with Lucasfilm and Fox.

And it sold rather well.

I also have enjoyed putting these CD's in proper order. It makes for an even better listening experience.
The one cue that I really miss, however, is the "wild ride with Fiona" or "Bond hitches a ride" cue from Thunderball. Was this cue created after the fact from existing material? Just curious.
Also, if you want your in order cd to stand alone, check out artofjamesbond.com. It's a great site with high quality and rare down loadable images. Perfect if you want your "in order" cd to have a look of it's own.

perhaps in place of "Proper" you should change that to "Film Order."

That I think would be a bit more to the point.

thanks for the sequecing advice, I to prefer to play my score in order of appearence, and to date the releases of the Bond scores have never been squencenced properly, I am always manually having to put the tracks in a better order for listening. These reissues are great listening material.. John barry rules!!!

Thanks, Indysolo!!!!

Now, does anyone care to post the chronological sequencing for "Dr. No", "From Russia With Love", "The Man With The Golden Gun", "The Spy Who Loved Me", "Moonraker", "Octopussy" and "A View To A Kill".....?

Sorry Mr. Thaxton but for me "Proper" order for a soundtrack in most cases IS "Film order". Also, when you use Quotes, it comes BEFORE the period, not after. Exsample: "Film order." is WRONG. I'll show you the correct way. Film order". Got it?

Okay. I have egg on my face. "Film order". That's the correct way. By the way, instead of bitching to each other, shouldn't we be talking about what we ALL love? Namely, FILM SOUNDTRACKS!! Kind of rude of you Mr .Thaxton

Indysolo, thanks for the great sequencing info. I believe there's a small error in the LALD sequence. You list the following sequence:

15, 1, 16, 4, 14, 3, 6, 7, 5, 18, 9, 19, 10, 20, 2, 8, 11, 12, 21, 13, 22

Instead it should read:

15, 1, 16, 4, 14, 3, 6, 7, 5, 18, 9, 19, 10, 20, 2, 8, 12, 11, 21, 13, 22

The difference being 12 (the scene where Solitaire gets slapped by Mr. Big in the New Orleans hideout) preceding 11 (Bond at the croc farm).

Even this sequencing isn't entirely accurate, since as you yourself alluded some of the LALD cues are combinations of missequenced cues.

BTW: my first post. I love this message board.

Thank you RobotSam! I got that LALD from 2 other people that I trusted. In truth, I'm not a big fan of the film, and I don't know the proper sequencing, so I was relying on others. I'll never do that again. wink

BJN was kind enough to point out 2 mistakes that I made in my sequencing guide to You Only Live Twice. Look at the top of this thread again for the revised instructions.

What do you expect from him? If he spent as much time working on releasing new soundtracks as he did ragging on people, we sould have a helluva lot of soundtracks out there.

Oh, and the closing quotation mark always comes after the punctuation - "Film order."

Musically, Dr. No's a mess. Most of the music on the album is mainly calypso music of the period, and very little of it was used in the finished film. Likewise, very little -- if any -- of the score actually ended up on the album.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

15. Stalking
1.Main Titles: James Bond Is Back/From Russia With Love/James Bond Theme
11. SPECTRE Island
2. Tania Meets Klebb
14. James Bond With Bongos
12. Guitar Lament
16. Leila Dances
5. Girl Trouble
7. 007
8. Gypsy Camp
6. Bond Meets Tania
3. Meeting in St. Sophia
18. 007 Takes The Lektor
17. Death of Kerim
9. Death of Grant
13. Man Overboard/SMERSH Into Action
10. From Russia With Love (vocal by Matt Monro)
4. The Golden Horn (not used in film)

There are some cues on the film that were not included in the original soundtrack; re-recordings of these cues are in the CD 'Bond Back in Action':

The James Bond Theme (the album version as it appears in Dr. No); this cue inserts between 'James Bond With Bongos' and 'Guitar Lament'.
The Zagreb Express (in between 'Death of Kerim' and 'Death of Grant').
'Death of Dr. No'; between Man Overboard/SMERSH Into Action'.

I haven't listened to TMTWGG, TSWLM, MR, OP, or AVTAK very often, so I can't break it down as easily as FRWL. Hope this at least gives you a start.

Ford,
And I wish you would shut your yap and do the following:

1. Spend all this supposed free time you have on your hands a rehabilitate your image with all of the film score professionals you have pissed off over the years.

2. Spend all this free time you have on your hands and do what you supposedly do best - produce soundtracks. If you worked on #1 instead of ragging on the fans on the boards and newsgroups, you might just be able to do #2. You obviously have the ability, knowledge, skill, and probably the contacts as The Package and The Swarm shows.

I think #1 probably accounts for why your output is so small, compared to the number of scores FSM or Varese Club puts out over a years time.

Why you want to piss off the fans amazes me. Personally, I'm glad I don't have personal contact with you, otherwise I might just decide it's not worth that much to purchase The Swarm or The Package, or Police Story, etc. Maybe, you just have no one left to piss off except us poor schlubs on the net.

I'm pretty certain this is the correct sequence for The Man With The Golden Gun:

2, 1, 5, 8, 3, 9, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12

4 isn't in the film per se. It's a full length jazz instrumental version of the title tune. Part of it plays in the Scaramanga fun house cues.

An underappreciated score IMO. My favorite cues: In Search Of Scaramanga's Island and Return To Scaramanga's Funhouse (particularly the latter half of this cue--very menacing).
