Bruce, has this release been shipped yet ?

Yes, they all went out last week.

Haven't got my copy yet either. Maybe today or tomorrow. I usually get the Kritzerland CDs in 2 or 3 days but on rare occasion they were thrown in to bulk 4th class mail and they took 2 or 3 weeks! Yikes!

Don't know why they'd be in fourth class mail since they have first class postage.

Because some postal employees are idiots! smile

Back in the 90s I paid for 2-day priority mail, my friend got my parcel about 18 days later! Well, at least he got it!

Your Victor Young Vol. 2 took nearly 3 weeks for me to get it.

Support Your Local Post Office! smile

Helper did check various tracking numbers - some have arrived, some are still in transit.

It landed in San Diego today, and I'm completely blown away by the upgrade in the sound quality of The Red Shoes compared to the old El Records CD release (which was my introduction to this score). Night and freaking day. Pardon the cliche, but the first two tracks on the first disc alone are worth the price of admission, and I'm not exaggerating. The rest is all a bonus. A glorious, beautiful, bountiful bonus. And watch The Red Shoes if you haven't. It's an amazing film. Viva Britzerland!

Wow ! I wasn't expecting it this soon. GLORIOUS MUSIC from a time when music was music. For me this is definitely Kritzerland's best release this year. You ended the year with a bang, Bruce. I hope sales were beyond your expectations. The "golden age " is where my heart is. Hang in there, PFK. I am sure they are heading East.

I got my copy yesterday Cody. A great release indeed! I first discovered these British film scores in the late 1960s, real music by real composers. I have various CDs of Golden Age British film scores but this set is MUCH improved sound quality. A very informative booklet too. I've always liked THINGS TO COME, 49th PARALLEL & FIRST OF THE FEW among others. At 2 CDs it's quite a bargain! Thanks for this wonderful release Bruce! smile

As with certain other releases, I've been sitting on these tapes for a very long time, but having Chris Malone do his brilliant thing has enabled us to create these - and there are more coming.

Fans of the golden age eagerly await more in the future. Bring them on, Mr. Kimmel.smile

I am really enjoying this release. However I noticed 2 errors in the booklet The notes state that Deborah Kerr starred in A MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH. In fact Kerr was featured in COLONEL BLIMP. Also, the recoding date for OLIVER TWIST is missing.

That is stupid - I know she didn't star in AMOLAD but Black Narcissus and Blimp - yikes! Kim Hunter is the wonderful star - I may have moved something around in the notes and just hadn't caught that.

Outstanding release. I have some of the original 78's and some of the Camden long-playing releases, but the quality of these selections is really fabulous. Over the years some of the Al Goodman suites made it onto oddball RCA-manufactured LP's (like his DUEL IN THE SUN suite) and it was obvious that RCA's archive has original stampers etc. There was scant information in the booklet on the origin of the individual recordings but regardless, Kritzerland came up with great materials (and great material!).

I hope some day someone can do a similar album of American scores. There are extant vintage recordings from FLESH AND FANTASY, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (Ward), etc.

I have still to place my order for this set, all excellent scores from some of the best films put on celuloide. Bruce any chance of a future release of Walter Goehr's score for David Lean' brilliant 'Great Expectations'?

Yes indeed, Chris Malone did a brilliant engineering job on these scores. We are lucky to have him.

This is a beautifully designed CD. Love the cover. Listened parts of the 1st. The Red Shoes is beautiful and long. Can't believe the sound quality!

THANK YOU BRUCE! This has to be one of the most glorious releases in some time. The music is absolutely gorgeous. I NEVER buy "compilations" of music in any fashion, but I did this one-if only because Scott of the Antarctic release earlier this year blew my mind. We need more releases of classic British Film Scores by these amazing composers.

Just finished listening to this stunning release, thank you Bruce.

Looking forward to follow up releases hopefully including pieces from 'Great Expectations'.

P.s not forgetting Henry King at Fox, 2018 may turn out to a great year from Kritzerland.

I too am greatly enjoying this release. A volume 2 would be a must-buy for me. Yes, more Golden Age Fox CDs!
