This is the only Arnold Bond score I NEVER listen to. I wonder if this will change my mind?

From what I hear, probably yes.

Dammit. In a really good way of course.

BTW, it can't be because I don't like the movie. I can't stand Quantum of Solace and I listen to that more than any other Arnold score. (Weird, huh?)

Next year we might very well see The World Is Not Enough or Tomorrow Never Dies.

I think that they could release DAD 'cause it's MGM-related-too-close title (look at the cover - it's said original MGM album)...
Of course I also hope to see TND & TWINE (especially TWINE!).
But I wouldn't hold my breath about them...

I wonder if the Warner connection is key to this one. Warner Sunset released the original soundtrack whereas A&M Records and Universal Records (The Universal Group) released Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough. As we know LLL and Warner's have a pretty good relationship. However Chapter III (Gold Circle Entertainment) managed to release an expanded version of Tomorrow Never Dies...

The main thing is that LLL got Eon Productions on board. From what I understand they have been the obstacle when it comes to rights with other releases. This complete edition of DAD is soooo welcome and I hope Eon are so impressed by the release/production that they agree to more Bonds being expanded. And we know they are out there!!!

Yes, an EON Bond score arrives on one of the true specialty score labels.

This is a very big deal for Bond score fans. I’ll get this, if only to attempt to make momentum for future releases. Can’t remember a note of this score, but I was never disappointed with any David Arnold Bond score. La-La Land will get a rare speculative buy from me on this one.

Imagine, just imagine, if this release is the one that somehow leads to many other expanded Bond scores getting released. I hope this sells really well in the off chance that it could bring about other expansions.

The original CD was 55 minutes long with a load of 'enhanced material'. I would have preferred the rest of the score and I've had to wait 15 years for it!

All Bond scores have at least one kickass action track and for this film it was 'Hovercraft Chase'. Luckily it was included on the original CD but lots more wasn't and now I will get to hear it.

David Arnold's website (long since gone) uploaded a couple of missing cues - namely 'Surf's Up' and 'Kiss Of Life'. Surf's Up is the very first cue from the film (gunbarrel aside) and covers Bond and his team surfing on to the beach in North Korea. It's a cracking cue and should have been on the original CD. Hopefully both are on this new CD.

The cue "On The Beach" appears twice, once in an extended version. As "Surf's Up" is 1:04, it is probably the extension.
Can't wait to get this set.

I still cannot believe this is really happening. This is Double-Oh Heaven.

One thing I've just noticed is we get the complete score in chronological order which is something that wasn't allowed when Lukas produced those Bond expansions. Any extra material had to be added at the end.

I know we're used to complete and chronological from LLL but it's is one hurdle they managed to jump. Or perhaps there was something in the contracts for those older albums that prevented this, and they had free reign with this title?

I can honestly say I was turned down by Madonna! smile

Eon is looking closely at this release and it's pending success. If this does well, 2018 is gonna be looking up!

This is fantastic news. There is hope for more Bond yet. I hope Die Another Day is as massive a success as it should be.

And I for one am glad Madonna turned you down. I can analyze that another day!

I'll be doing my part smile
Hope it is a success. Congrats on getting your foot in the door at Eon.

The song would have been nice to complete the set, but as with Titanic, it's the score that's the most important. At least with D.A.D the song is fairly disposable.

Fantastic batch all round. Close Encounters, Titanic, a Bond score, Shire's Apocalypse Now...... (sorry, don't know enough about Dr Doolittle to comment on that but will be checking out samples). Have no idea how you managed this but I bet you're well chuffed with yourselves and rightfully so.
Could you really believe back when you started that you would be releasing titles like this ? A huge thanks to all involved and thanks for a great 2017.

That is the best piece of news I have had in here for years. Thinking about the possibilities....expanded TWINE, TND, LTK, AVTAK, TMWTGG, MR, TSWLM, OP....will we actually live to see them released?

When we started 15 years ago we had lofty goals but never in our wildest dreams did we imagine that our label would release music from Star Trek, X Files, and Batman let alone ET, Jurassic Park, Braveheart and Titanic. Now that we have a Bond title I can just call it quits...but we won't.
