"What Holy Grails Are Left For You?", "Soundtracks I want for 2018"... I guess it's the nature of the game to always crave for more no matter how the labels spoil us with goodies in a monthly rhythm (or more often).
You can end 2017 in style and support one of those hard-working entities, namely James Fitzpatrick/Tadlow, and make an actual re-recording happen. Everything helps. Let's do this.
Thanks to all these great labels, my list keeps getting smaller and smaller.
Off the top of my head, some scores I would love to have next year:
Sneakers (complete) Conan the Destroyer (original) The Jackal The Getaway (Isham) Surviving the Game A View to a Kill (complete) Slayground Halloween III (ultimate edition) U.S. Marshals (complete) L.A. Confidetial (complete) Air Force One (complete) Leviathan (complete) The Mummy (complete) 13th Warrior (complete) Along Came a Spider (complete) Hollow Man (complete) Looker Willow (complete) Temple of Doom & Raiders (complete)
What's the difference between this and Holy Grails?!? Are we to assume that the people posting here have other desired scores but they just don't want them in 2018?
There is not much left for me to be completely satisfied. 1. Airwolf (original recordings and the complete score for the pilot movie) 2. Mike Post/Pete Carpenter Collection 3. some more stuff from "Stargate" and "Stargate Atlantis" 4. "Duck Tales" (I 've read here somewhere that Jones was nearly ready to produce an album, but Disney blocked) 5. "The Love Bug" 6. scores/compilations for "A Friend Is a Treasure", "Watch Out, We're Mad!", "They Called Him Bulldozer", "Miami Supercops" 7. complete scores for "The Man With The Golden Gun", "The Spy Who Loved Me", "Licence To Kill", "GoldenEye"
I would love a CD or release of all the music performed by: Kai-Li Peng in her late husband's film Yi Yi (A One and a Two). and more music from Yang's films. Not sure if this is on anyone's radar.
Lovely film. Will have to pull out and pay attention to the music.
From Wiki on the film's soundtrack:
The piano pieces in Yi Yi's soundtrack are mostly performed by Kaili Peng, Yang's wife. They include well-known pieces like Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata and J.S. Bach's Toccata in E minor (BWV 914). Peng has a small cameo in the film as a concert cellist, playing the Beethoven's Cello sonata No. 1 with her husband posing as a pianist.
It is (at least) ...a 3 CD Box set - showcasing the music of the 1993 TV Series: LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN (if not, at least the complete score to the opening "PILOT" episode).
My most wanted film score to be released is FIREFOX - by Maurice Jarre
Obviously there are others, but these two are my most wanted Holy Grails.
Shouldn't this be a discussion about the scores Dragon wants? We already have a bunch of holy grail threads.
I fully agree about those Riz Ortolani titles. However I already have pretty good LP rips, so if it is just the LP program on CD, this is good news but not quite essential for me.
Anne of the Thousand Days - Georges Delerue Custer of the West - Bernado Segall El Dorado - Nelson Riddle Harper - Johnny Mandel Nicholas and Alexandra - Richard Rodney Bennett

So aside from Polar Express, everyone has complete different Holy Grails.
A total contrast from seven or eight years ago where everyone had the same Holy Grails. Gremlins, Spartacus, Back To The Future, The Goonies, etc...
Unfortunately this means it will be impossible to please everyone in 2018!
And yep, Roger Feigelson said Duck Tales is a no go. But never mind, because 2017 has brought us a Bond expansion and a Tangerine Dream expansion, things I thought were impossible. Here's hoping 2018 breaks more barriers.
