A big favourite of mine! Although I already have the LP and MCA CD releases there is no way am I going to pass up the opportunity of this wonderful new upgraded, and, expanded release! Ordering right now!

Love the film and the soundtrack. The original CD was generous for Goldsmith back in 1990 but I am looking forward to the extra music. My favourite unreleased cue is the scene with Barley and Katya at the church talking about Yakov for the first time.

One of Goldsmith's finest ever scores.

I adore the original CD and have played it endlessly for 27 (!) years. The complete score on the TT blu-ray is sensational. The extra cues are excellent.

It's a brave expansion - even Goldsmith thought the original album was too long - but if you already like the score you'll love this!

The tread itself. Any updates on other titles?

I can't do that here -- we don't have any used CD bins. The nearest is a crappy selection in Pensacola.

I promise to flog myself most vigorously over this grammatical transgression.

What I'm especially intrigued by about this: Quartet includes over 15 minutes of previously unreleased music, whereas the film itself (and therefore the Twilight Time Blu-ray isolated score track) only has 5-6 minutes of previously unreleased music. Was some stuff written for but unused in the film, or where are the extra minutes coming from? Dirk Wickenden who did the notes on this Quartet release even claimed only the small amount of missing music on his complete score breakdown here: http://www.runmovies.eu/?p=7846

Very intriguing and I really look forward to reading the notes on this as well as hearing all the extra music, which according to Dirk adds some much-needed variety to the score which actually makes it play better.

Love this score to death but I think even the existing release is too long. Wasn't this the soundtrack that caused Jerry Goldsmith to begin favoring shorter releases through the 90s?

For all this score’s reputation as a saxy, jazzy noir, this is really Goldsmith’s most Herrmann-esque score. Superb.

All respect for the fine original MCA album aside, this score has such great, brief, non-album cues that this edition was sorely needed by us Goldsmith fans.

Me too!! Along with Medicine Man. (Of course, filtered through Goldsmith's idiosyncratic lens.)
