There's an absolutely lovely music cue in AFRICAN QUEEN, when Hepburn and Bogart are totally discouraged about getting their boat out of the swamp;...

Hey we are on the same wavelength. Per opening post, I do believe you are referring to "Breaking Free from the Reeds".

John, I too would like to see a complete CD to "MacDougal's House of Horrors."
It should be done NEXT on any label.

Was the scored by Frank Skinner or somebody like that ?

Peter

At the risk of being verbally clobbered ,have you guys at "Tribute Film Classics" NOT marco polo ever considered franchising your operation? With so many wonderful scores that would sound awesome newly recorded by the Tribute gang I don't see how all our wishlists could ever come to fruition. Short of that maybe you could clone yourselves. I know a handbuilt "anything" created by one person is superior to a mass marketed assembly line widget but if "Tribute Film Classics" could oversee the creative process and keep the integrity level high than we could see more output.

It's funny, but although I love the film and have seen it at least a dozen times, I've never noticed the music, and that's not usually something I can be accused of. I do, however, always notice the lousy miniatures with the stick figures on the model boat going downstream.

Oops. Context is everything. The last title mentioned was ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, so I figured that's what RM was talking about.

If he was were talking about AFRICAN QUEEN, then please disregard my post. I adore A&CMF, but it's been so many years since I've seen AFRICAN QUEEN that I can't comment about the score.

(Sorry, Howard!)

Mr. Morgan, I am very thankful for someone like you who keeps the Universal film music flame alive. The Foodman loves this stuff.

Thanks, Preston, have not seen the film "African Queen" in awhile, so I will give it another listen.

RM --

Please read my second post; you must have missed it.

I thought you were talking about ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, (because that was the last title mentioned before your post), not AFRICAN QUEEN. "Pronoun trouble," in the immortal words of the little black duck.

Howard, how am I all wet when I haven't even expressed an opinion? I said I can't comment on QUEEN because it's been so long since I've seen the movie. (Or is this another one of your subtle movie references I'm not picking up on?)
