I thought LOTR, save the first one sucked. The second one I walked out of midway, it was so dull, not just pace, but the fact the characters were flat and nobody seemed to care about the story but the audience. As for your Bay comment: I'd rather see OHMSS, FRWL, Dr. No or even YOLT. Thunderball's script was awful, and if anyone could have saved it, it would have been Hunt and Young. Incidentally- DON'T get me started on Christian Wagner, the Bruckheimer moron who edits some of Bays films and had a huge part in making Bond an unrecognsiable, anonymous U.S. , um, Bruckheimer-fest on DAD. Fair enough my friend!

Are you going to pick a new mommie, perhaps, two might be too much, not that Cat mite not make a good choice. After all, you dont have to adopt. Oh, I am having a bad day! So, Thor have you ever , how can I put this delicatley, enjoyed the pictoral of a Bond girl in a publication? If so, please tell me that it is DR. Quinn herself, in a Playboy layout on the Bond girls.

It still bugs me that I missed out on YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE last sunday, but at least I caught ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE this weekend. This is the ONLY pre-Brosnan film that I had previously seen all the way through, but it was at least 10 years ago, so I had forgotten most of it. Again, it was mildly entertaining, but effects like action speed-up, rear projection (the ski chase is horrible!) and shock zooms date the film terribly, and makes it far more cheesier than it would otherwise have been. The writers are to be commended for their guts to make Bond more humane (or "he had guts!", which they say in the film as a vigilant skier is being butchered by a snow plow, causing his guts to spill out all over the place)...you know, the getting married stuff and all that. But is that really what Bond is all about? Shouldn't Bond films be more care-free and have that twinkle in the eye? There were also some story problems, as usual, but I have forgotten about most of them (I should write these things down as I watch them). Things like why Teresa suddenly shows up in Switzerland, at the right place to the right time etc. Leaves a lot to be desired, but is able to entertain on a saturday night. "We have all the Time in the World" is a beautiful song, but again, Barry's score left me cold. He keeps slowing things down unnecessarily, and obsessing with screaming, repetitive brass clusters that just grate incessantly.
