In 1959, Coral Records issued an LP entitled "Themes From Horror Movies" by Dick Jacobs and His Orchestra. One of the tracks was the "Theme from THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN." That track was credited to Fred Carling and Ed Lawrence.
That LP was later reissued by Varese Sarabande in 1978 under the title "Themes From Classic Science Fiction, Fantasy And Horror Films," and it appeared on CD from Varese in 1993. Here is the Varese LP cover:
The original tracks by Salter are good, but his part of the score was the least inspirational, in my mind. Irving Gertz and Herman Stein wrote the best music in the picture. The piece on the Dick Jacobs album was the same piece as the acetate demo I pictured on this thread. It's a blaring and unpleasant experience to my ears.
