"Now as far as the Alaskan crablegs. Never had these at Outback. Are they any good?"
Lofty, Outback serves the very best crab legs I've ever had at any restaurant! Generous portions of sweet, succulent crabmeat...and they're served already cracked, so there's no battling with those tough shells!
Concerning my post of James Horner digging through Outback's dumpster, I saw Horner sucking out the bone marrow of one of Jerry's T-bone leftovers. The next day Horner composed the score to STAR TREK: THE WRATH OF KHAN.
I believe I read an article where Horner kept those bones from Goldsmith's steak, put them in an old El Producto cigar box and stapled Jerry's autographed photo to it. (b&w, of course) Now, if Horner is smoking El Producto's, he's really in trouble!
Hey. I was down in a KROGERS when I worked in North Carolina a few years back. They had great quality turkey breast on sale.
I wonder how Jerry feels about turkey breast?
Does he prefer honey turkey, oven roasted turkey or smoked turkey? Also let's not forget the lemon pepper, cajun, southwest and sun-dried tomato variations.
I don't know about Jerry Goldsmith, but to me these dishes - genuinely american, I presume - sound incredibly "exotic". We've got nothing like this over here.
Why Thor, It's not so "exotic", really! Want a Bloomin'artery cloggin' onion?? Just bread crumb a large onion, deep fry in the most fatty oil you can find, dump on the Russian salad dressing, and, there you have it!! But, your heart, and arteries won't thank you though !! Bloomin' heart attack if ya ask me!!
Thor, And to think my dad used to bite into an onion the way we bite into apples!!! Ewwww!! Must have been a "living during the depression thing"! Always got dates though! "Girls who love onions", now there's a topic!
I once noticed him order the Alice Springs chicken and complain that the waitress did not recognize him. He was yelling about the chicken, stating that he invented the dish as a tribute to Copeland. Does this make sense to anyone?
I found the entire incident very disturbing; however the Drover's Platter was quite tasty.
If Jerry truly loves/composes turkeys, then that means Horner will start having some turkeys, too...you are what you eat...or plagiarize.
The answer to your questions is, No Jerry does not eat at said establishment. Mr Horner does not eat there either. They both do admire each others work.
They both do admire each others work? Story and rumor has built up to the point where Goldsmith and Horner would agree to pistols at dawn at the drop of a hat (after a stop-off at Outback's for a hearty repast, no doubt). Do you have any proof of this amicable respect between these composers?

Goldsmith actually helped Horner early on to get into film scoring. He recognized his talent , allowed him to go to scoring sessions, gave him scores, and opened doors for him.
To this day Goldsmith has the utmost respect for Horner, they are freinds. Goldsmith, Elmer Berstein, John Barry and John Williams have stated at various times that James Horner is the most important and influential film composer ever.
