aren't these all just DVD or VHS rips, FX and dialogue included?

Ah - so they're not just bootlegs, they're poor bootlegs at that!

You are correct, sir !

I think the dialogue has been mostly removed, but certain sound effects are there.

So what? They're bootlegs, and the promotion and discussion of bootlegs (even bad ones) isn't allowed here. How many more times? roll eyes

Simon:

The only reason I joined this forum is to tell you to shut your mouth.

I made those "bootlegs" as you call them and they were hard work.

Try making one. Just one. They are difficult.
I'm working on one right now and it's been three days since I've started.
If Mr. Vigilante is breaking the rules by posting them, then give him a warning.
And First Breath said nothing wrong with his posts and you act like you own this site.
You don't.

I spent a lot of time making a lot of scores and the last thing I need is to find some insulting punk-ass like you calling them bad bootlegs.

Maybe YOU should amend YOUR comments.

Oops. Can you hear my knees knocking?

There are only a few rules on this board and one is - no bootleg talk. Not hard to grasp really.

But thanks for the laugh anyway.

He obviously doesn't care about the rules since his only purpose of making an account was to say your being an ass.

He's right too. You could have just warned me instead of going on and on about how bad his scores are.

I just bought the Medicopter score from iTunes - my first ever iTunes purchase, by the way!

Levay's 15 tracks run for 35 minutes total. The music is very sparkling and energetic, and it's really a mixture of classic Levay, Zimmer, and even some James Bond-elements. Should not be missed by Levay-fans.

I'm not too interested in the material by the other composers, Lothar Scherpe and Carsten Rocker, but I guess I'll check it out later.

Ah thanks for the reminder ! After this post I grabbed Medicopter from Amazon's US MP3 store and am enjoying it quite a lot. Love that Levay sound here. The other tracks are bad at all. Overall it is a good high energy electronic score.

More Levay on CD would be sweet big grin . Come on BSX, or LaLa... Cobra please ? cool

The other tracks are NOT bad at all? ;-)

I wouldn't call it a pure electronic score though, quite a bit of orchestra too there I guess.

How much score is there in Cobra? I always thought the 3 score-tracks and 1 song from Levay on the official soundtrack was quite representative of his music in the film.

Oh, to wish for such a small release such as Levay's NAVY SEALs score...just 20 minutes is all I ask for powers that be!
Yeahhhhhhhhhh i love the original score of sylvester levay in NAVY SEALS electronic material with a few orchestral...
But COBRA 1986
WEREWOLF 1987 and OTHERWORLD 1985 (tv serie)
are very good too

It's too bad that it has never been released !!!!

Love to see Otherworld released

Well, I've thankfully erased most of the experience of watching Cobra from memory big grin but I do remember dimly through the years there was a decent amount of scoring, more than featured on the album. Could be wrong, but seemed to be 30 minutes or so, at the least... ?

Seems like Medicopter 117 has also got volumes 2 and 3! And vol 3 is 3 hours of Levay! MikeP?

Ok, I finally got around to burning all those Levay tracks to CDR. Volumes 1 to 3 total 5 discs of Levay music! A lot of great stuff here, lots of synthesizers coupled with orchestra in the usual Levay style.

Holy crap, how did I miss this earlier ? 3 hours ! Ok, this is awesome big grin Thanks for the tip, although I'm kinda late to see it.

This made my day !!! It'd be so nice to get more prime Levay out in the marketplace - with the current hot trends/ fads of "synthwave" or "retrowave" music, seems like some of his vintage scores would do well aimed at that audience.
