Very interesting news. Not familiar with any of the music but will certainly give the samples a whirl!

I myself LIKE to know what's coming, helps me plan. Gives me something to look forward to and get excited about.

Thank you so much for the early notice! I can plan for these -- they are utterly wonderful.

This is a more sensible way to go to let people know were they stand
all three releases are great. And I am glad of the pre-notice
well done Luckas

Advance notice is great. It also allows us to spread the word to people who don't follow FSM's message boards.

Intrigued by "Horner Americana"... what could this be? American Tail 2 would be great. That would be a long shot.

It's RASCALS AND ROBBERS. It's right there in Lukas' post.

I can finally retire my home made ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS CDR with all of Mona's squeaking.
Ohma-Tiglan, Lukas

BTW-how did you find the tapes for it? I had read they were lost/misplaced. It would be interesting to hear how you found it.

Homecoming was pre Waltons TV show so no theme from the show.

Thank you! That's exactly what I was suspecting...
:

Something tells me Lukas found a way to put it in... or at least tried. wink

After all, what WALTONS album could possibly be complete without it?

Don't believe everything you read. The Robinson Crusoe on Mars music scoring masters were at Paramount - the 35mm stereo mag masters were transferred some time ago for a 2" preservation project. But this is not the kind of thing that would have been made available to the DVD producers.

Well, this one will have to be.

No scoring masters survive for the Waltons series, sorry!

Also, the Homecoming TV movie is owned by CBS while the Waltons series is owned by Warner Bros. (who acquired it in the Lorimar library). So we would not be able to do a CD with both projects -- not without a lot of headaches. But given that there are no Waltons masters... well check out my favorite SNL skit as a kid:

Then, late March or early April, The Homecoming/Rascals and Robbers - Goldsmith +
Horner Americana, love this one!

Great! Looking forward to ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS, and more Goldsmith is always welcome.

Anything by Nathan Van Cleave (who scored "Robinson Crusoe On Mars") is welcome too, considering his only work on C.D. were his scores for "The Twilight Zone".

Which is probably why we ended up with a mock-up version on those old TELEVISION'S GREATEST HITS records.

Thanks for the heads up Lukas. I do like knowing a bit in advance what's coming out, it does make it easier to plan.

I haven't heard of any of the titles before, so I'll check the samples out with great interest.

Hide in Plain Sight

As a teaser I would mention the following discussion about Rosenman's sparse and beautiful score:

Awesome news about Robinson Crusoe on Mars. My dad will enjoy this news. He'd told me about the film for years, but I never saw it until AMC surprised me one evening in 2001. A little jem of a film and I enjoyed the score from the get-go, so I'm looking forward to this.
