Whew! There were 17 posts where people actually seemed positive and excited to have the box. I'm glad #s 18 and 19 got things back to normal around here.

LORDY, you almost made me pee, that was funny, love a good sense of humor, he he heeee.

I'm afraid to play my music in my playroom in my house as I may miss a knock at the door from a certain UPS fellow.

I only saw one post from someone who has the box.
Seems reasonable enough to pass comment on a photo that is posted here. The sides of the box in the photo appear bent. Maybe it's just the photo. Perhaps the construction makes that unavoidable and it looks fine "in the flesh". Or maybe it doesn't. That's why the question was asked.
It seems it's ok here to have threads about cracked five-cent jewel cases, but to ask a question about an apparently bent $500 box is considered bad form. Very odd.

I will admit, the construction isn't of the highest quality. It's very good, but I can see it succumbing to normal wear and tear easily. The sides are sturdy, but aren't completely rigid, they flex a bit. It isn't a big issue, I mean, it only has to support the zoetrope on the lid, and does so fine.

The CD cases themselves aren't so great. They're a bit like mini-LP replicas, which can be very nice. These have cardboard sleeves, and the disc is contained between a folded sheet of paper with the original OST artwork and a note from Elfman, plus credit list etc. That sheet feels like ordinary printing paper, and a few already have some minor bends and creases from simply taking them out.

No matter what this thing was built out of, however, if you slid it off the side of a table... God help you. It's the size of my abdomen!

I think it is a type of metal box. It may be able to be pushed outward possibly. It also seems like they wanted to go for a rough kind of look to the overall set, I could be wrong until I see mine.

Here's another one.

First thing I did was open the beautiful book (it still has that new-book-smell) and look for my name, and folks . . . my suspicions have been confirmed. I'm real. I EXIST!!!

Right there, on (un-numbered) Page 5! Under "THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT & ASSISTANCE"! On the same line as Thor's name! On the line above Lukas' name! In a book by Jeff "The Music of Star Trek" Bond! A book that has baby pictures of Danny Elfman in it!

Five hundred dollars well spent.

This is going directly onto my resume:

Inputter (Put-inner?) & Assistant, "Danse Macabre" Box Set.

I need a nap.

Can you tell what other names may have been mentioned that we see on the boards from time to time?

You're [SPOILER ALERT] on the same line as me, Peter, Just before Thor.

Other names I recognize in the same paragraph:

Neil S. Bulk, Mike Matessino, Nick Redman, Shaun Rutherford, Daniel Schweiger, John Takis, Amer Zahid.

The rest I'm unfamiliar with, because only real names were listed (including mine) -- shows how many of you folks I only know by aliases.

Many others are thanked all up and down the page in two other larger paragraphs.

Looks like gold ink!

These type of books if it were sold alone I know would be expensive on its own. I'm sure it is well made and I'm thinking we will find out lots of trivia etc that we never knew before.

Fingers crossed I get my set delivered Tuesday. They started shipping was it last Thursday? I never rec'd a Shipped E-mail but I checked my status per the original e-mail from the time I pre-ordered and Friday it said IN PROCESS (as it had for months) But Saturday it stated SHIPPED. So I figured it would ship out Today- Monday. The WB's cust. service when I asked about tracking info, stated that I should probably have it Tuesday that she shows it shipped April 1st.

MN here - Something tells me the US orders shipped Next Day Air. (i'm thinking)

Well, I finally have something to say about this.

I got my box and it is everything I have ever dreamed of. I still can't imagine how they managed to cram so much amazing stuff into one giant metal box.

It is incredibly cool to finally open this up and see my book nestled inside, and it's especially cool opening everything up at Richard Kraft's office where this whole crazy idea began. I actually thought those shipping announcements on Friday were an April Fool's joke so I'm almost unprepared for the impact of seeing this thing for real...and I think that accounts for my expressions in some of these photographs.

Included in the photos are me, executive producer Richard Kraft, production coordinator Sarah DeMatos and associate producer Melisa McGregor. I look forward to the endless nitpicking and controversy that will inevitably follow once people are no longer able to complain about this project's long production schedule.

someone posted this on facebook and i dare say it seems to work. apparently mine is on tap for tomorrow. it's a festivus miracle!

"I think I just figured out how to track my package without a tracking number. Go to UPS tracking. Choose Track by reference. Just enter you zip code and put your order number as the reference number.

For me, it showed a 17.3 LB package scheduled for 2nd day air. Sounds about right."
