The season 9 main title is on the current volume 1 release smile

Disc 4--

24. THE X FILES Main Title (remix) 3:25

Unless I'm seriously mistaken which I don't believe that I am but that is not the season 9 theme. I'm pretty sure it's the same theme that was on The Truth and The Light.

From the clip on LaLa's site and listening to the track on 'The Truth and the Light', I believe that you are correct - they both sound the same.

I would like the music from Bad Blood to be on Volume 2. The opening scene after the teaser when Mulder is trying to write a report, crumples it up, and throws it at the trash can only to miss it. Then Scully comes in and Mulder just says "Don't even start with me". I love that cue.

Also, this question is for LLL:

Is all the music from Vol 1 every piece of music from that particular episode or are there more unreleased tracks from Paper Hearts, Post Modern and others?

Thanks for this great release.

We only chose key music from the episodes we picked. I tried not to leave off anything great because I do not wish to include MORE music from an episode that was on Volume 1 and put it on Volume 2.

That said, if there is an overwhelming demand from the fans that a certain piece should be made available then we will do our best to include it on Volume 2.

Oh no - come on, people - let's all lobby for more music from "Triangle"! smile

Seriously though, I would gladly give up my long list of other requests almost completely for more music from just this episode; it's my favourite score by far - practically every piece in this is superb.

What I'd really, really like to see included in Volume 2 is, in order of preference:

1. The cue that starts when the traitor tells the Germans about Thors Hammer; it goes on scoring the scene in which Kersh wants to go to Jamaica; and concludes with the strong climax and final statement of the 'quest' motif when Mulder is transported back; the cue ends when he's thrown into the ballroom. I know that motif will be on the Volume 1 Triangle track (and many thanks for that one!), but this final theme statement is the best and the most dramatic of the whole episode. Please please pretty please MV, I'm really begging here for this one! smile This cue runs for about 3 minutes.

2. Of course the ballroom sequence ending with the revelation of the ghostship ballroom, with the Hot Liquorice mix, but maybe you can't put that on because of other rights or so?

3 & 4. I even love the atmospheric Prologue motif that occurs throughout the episode - the prologue one is the best though, the accordean vibe in the last seconds is nice. And of course the final hospital scene with the touching piano version of the X-Files theme.

Thanks very much for considering!

Well I think it's really great to proceed like this! Now we have music from 40 episodes and will have music from 40 more in the second volume! I think it really gives a better chance to satisfy everyone. So much episodes and so much GREAT scoring work, I can just imagine how hard this is to make a choice!

I can't wait my boxset to arrive! Thanks again MV for this release you're the best!

I appreciate this thread. It will really help us on Volume 2...

2x24 - SOFT LIGHT
With Tony Shaloub as a scientist dealing with the deadly consequences of his research into Dark Matter.

Also, congratulations on releasing Vol 1. The release of this music was much needed.

One seemingly minor detail I find immensely satisfying is the grouping and labeling of each track under the show's numbering system. It's attention to little details like this that are really appreciated. Thanks.

I've added some more suggestions to my list. The music from the episodes below may not be favorites on everyone's list but the music is certainly very effective. Can anyone say Volume 3? MV, is there a cut-off date for suggestions/requests?

2x16 - Colony
2x17 - End Game

3x15 - Piper Maru
3x16 - Apocrypha

7x8 - The Amazing Maleeni (opening teaser)

Thanks LLL for this really great first volume!!!!!!!

These are my suggestions for the next release! smile

2X18 - END GAME
The music plays when it points what happened in the previous episode.

5x03 - REDUX II
Music starts at the final interrogation and ends with the hospital-scene... great suspense music, with a great piano-finale! smile

5x10 - CHINGA
I do love the short action melody shortly before the Main Titles - The puppet says: "I want to play a game ..." or so wink

5x12 - BAD BLOOD
The remarkable variation of the theme (which I didn't identified yet) It plays at the start from the episode, where Mulder throws several reports away wink

6ABX03 - TRIANGLE
Of course the chasing scene through the ship with the Swing-Swing-Swing Melody. I do really hope there aren't no copyright issues.

6ABX19 - THREE OF A KIND
Again a little action, chase-theme through the casino, where Byers chases Suzanne!

6ABX22 - BIOGENESIS
The final theme what appears when Scully sees the UFO at the beach!

7ABX11 - CLOSURE
I know the track is by Moby, but it would be great to complete this collection of X-Files music wink

7ABX18 - HOLLYWOOD A.D.
Volume 1 included really some of the greatest music of this episode, but I miss the music of the dance of the zombies (Bueno Vista Social Club)

8ABX20 - ESSENCE
The chase music near the end of this episode. First the escape from Scullys home and then the chase through the FBI building.

8ABX21 - EXISTENCE
The music of the finale, birth and Mulder's arrival!!

First of all I also have to say, that I can't await until my Box arrives! The Tracklist alone makes my head spin in anticipation! wink

Though I don't really know, which tracks will be on the first volume here are some of my suggestions for the first season, that will hopefully included on the second one.

Pilot
I just love the score to this episode. A complete score would be great wink
  • Mulder sprays the X on the Street (Its the motif that stays in my mind all the time)
  • Scully finds the marks on her
  • Mulder and Scully loose time in the car
  • Scully holds the implant in the glastube and watches at it in the hotelroom

    Deep Throat
  • Mulder and Deep Throat meet in the men toilet for the first time
  • The whole Theme (almost 5 minutes) as Mulder and Scully discuss the UFO Sightings, Mulder drives away with the Car, Mulder walks to the Air Force Base through the field and is chased by the MPs

    More suggestions to come wink

Great thread, and you guys even bring all that music to it that I hadn't even though of yet, and my list is already long as well. I'll be adding my requests in due time, after I receive Volume 1 and have a chance to let it sink in, but I've been toying with an idea to start a new thread on this.
All these selections are great, but these lists are so large (mine as well), so it's kind of turning into a jungle. Perhaps it might be useful to centralize everybody's absolute favourites, so that none of us is disappointed after the Volume 2 release? After all, I can think of a handful of cues I've been wanting for so long; my heart would sink if they're not on the next one - and I have this now-or-never feeling about this smile I'll start a thread for this right away; let me know what you think.

In listening to Hot Liquorice and then the episode, there are a lot of overlays it sounds like were done by Mr Snow. I would love to hear everything he composed (separate from Hot Liquorice) for that 4 minutes released on the next volume as it is fantastic and integral to that episode.

And of course the final hospital scene with the touching piano version of the X-Files theme.

    Most certainly this as well.

Also from Bad Blood, there is quite a musical difference between the two stories. I would love to see two cues released, once containing bits from Scully's explanation (containing the play on the X-Files them shortly after she starts her version) and the more serious sound from Mulder's explanation.

The problem with that is that they're really overlays - it wouldn't be very listenable separating it from "Hot Liquorice". I would love to have that one on Vol 2 of course, as Snow really gives it an extra edge, but I don't know if that's feasible, or if Snow himself would want that track - which is basically composed by someone else - on the set. Also, those other tracks from "Triangle", which are original, have a slight priority for me, especially that one track with Mulder being carried back to the ballroom - as well as the prologue and the ending of course.

Since someone mentioned the main theme I'm gonna post this here. Lalaland has obviously made some mistakes. There are four remixed of the main theme in the series: season 1 mix, season 2 mix, season 3-8 mix (long and short) and season 9 mix (with the use of season 3-8 short mix for short titles). Included on the set are:

    Disc one:
    1. THE?X?FILES Main Title (Season 1) 0:48
This is actually the long version of season 3-8 mix

    29. THE?X?FILES End Credit (Extended #1) 0:35
    End credit season 3-8 mix

    Disc two:
    1. THE?X?FILES Main Title (Short) 0:37
This is short version of season 3-8 mix

    18. THE?X?FILES End Credit (Extended Remix) 2:11
Never used in the series - shortened version of the main theme from Truth and Light

    Disc three:
    1. THE?X?FILES Main Title (Remix - Short) 0:37
I hear absolutely no difference from the one from disc two.

    22. THE?X?FILES End Credit (Extended #2) 1:31
Again, never used in the series, shortened version of the main theme from Truth and Light.

    Disc four:
    1. THE?X?FILES Main Title (7th Season) 0:48
This is actually the main theme from season NINE.

    24. THE?X?FILES Main Title (remix) 3:25
Full theme from Truth and Light.

Just wanted to point out the mistakes, if there are gonna be main themes included on volume two I think it should be season 1 and season 2 mixes as they weren't included here.
